Yesterday I decided to seal my motor. When I went to put the Carb back on after putting some sealant around the base of the neck and put the pinch screw back in I'm still able to twist the Carb around. I have the pinch screw as tight as I can get it but it still doesn't seem to be doing any good. Could the plastic neck that goes inside be getting worn out? It didn't look like it. Is this going to cause problems with leaking while running? Thanks

Probably your pinch bolt itself. I just had to order myself a new one for my .19T due to my father over-tightening it and stripped the threads along with warped the carb body and cut a gash into it. So now i have a new carb body on the way as well. Along with sleeve and piston. Figured i might as well rebuild the whole thing and have a new engine and carb. Find an exploded view of your engine and carb and get the part number and it shouldnt cost but like 3.99 or so and will come with the nut and washer as well.

It is a vertex .26 engine and unfortunately I haven't been able to find to much info on that motor. Do you know if I can replace it with any other Carb that is for a .26?

Not sure about that but with a bit of research you may find one that will work. I know that the hpi 3.4 carb fits the trx 3.3 engine but other than that i havnt ever tried to mix match carbs with different engines. Maybe just measure the carb body where it fits into block and see if the specs off any of the other more common engine brands has the same size carb body. Sorry i can't be of any more help on this one but I'm stumped.

I know this sounds like not the proper way of fixing the problem but I did a search on this topic and found someone that mentioned to jbweld it if I'm not planning on removing it again. Would this work? It would deffinetly be sealed then.

Well the only problem there is jb weld wont really hold up to the heat of these engines. I tried to weld my header once and it worked for about 2 tanks before it softened up and let go. The carb area my not get as hot as the exhaust but who knows.
