As some of you may remember, I decided to take a break from RC. Well I'm kinda back in it. Hmmm

My club contacted me to hear if I would run the timing system fro them this weekend. Since I'm the only one they know of who understands how to run and setup the timing system, I had a hard time saying no. Besides It'll be good for me to see all those ugly faces again.

Downside is I have to go three days without seeing my girl, That'll be rough.

Anayways I'm looking forward to two days of great racing, with a bunch of great people. :)

Thats how we do it. We tell you we "need your help" (theres 10 other guys who can do it) and then before you know it your sucked right back in to spending $100's a week to support your habbit! Welcome back!! Personally I dont think you ever left!

I really am the only one who can work this program. It kicks butt, but it's kinda hard to setup. But done right, you won't have to touch it all through the training and qualifying rounds. It even prints out the reports from each round when they're done.

I see more and more clubs moving from AMB's Sparc software to RCM Ultimate.

Haha, nah I have my own way of having fun. There is one guy who goes on tilt as soon as you start commentating his driving. Good or bad, it a sure thing. I little mean I know. lol

Unfortunately she has a family event and work. Besides she can't see the appeal. She doesn't mind though.....yet.

What a weekend from hell that was.

Murphy was making his presence known, with a vengeance.

First the timing software calculated the points wrong for 1/8 electric, so I had to do the scoring by hand. Only way to make sure the right winner was announced. That was Saturday.

Sunday: First, it turns out there's a glitch in the program. It can't move people up from a lower main to the next one. So all bump drivers, had to be added by hand. Secondly the printer broke down, right when I need it to print out the drivers for the mains.

A new printer was found within 15 minutes, so only a slight delay. No problem, the drivers understood. First time I try to print with the new printer, the timing software locks up. Luckily it did save the results from the 1/4 final running, but I had to restart the computer to get it working again.

Now one should think that everything is great, and it was for a while. Both 1/2 finals ran without a hitch, and the timing software actually moved the right people into the Final.

This is where a representative from the new RC association tells me the break between the last 1/2 and the final is too short. Right here I felt a need to hurt something, bad. The time schedule had been available for more than three days, and only now am I informed of it.

Oh yeah and all the while all these problems are being dumped on me, drivers continue to bug me for heat listings and other results.

The person running the timing booth, is extremely under appreciated IMO. I certainly earned my 100$ this weekend.

All it took to erase it all from my mind, was a hug from my girlfriend.
