what are preps are people using besides the 4 oz little bottles being sold here and there? i know about the corn syrup stuff not really in to using that stuff much. are there any bigger bottle of stuff like the stuff used on real cars ? just looking for more options.

A lot (not all ) of the preps sold for the RC drag cars actually is blended with/from the big car stuff.
Using straight big car prep might be a too strong and you'll start burning esc's, stripping spurs etc. especially once a groove starts forming.

I have tried some homemade stuff but it just never worked great for me and was a pain to get of the tires afterwards.
Switched to using the Monster Grip tire preps and have been doing so for a while now and they work great.
You can get it in the 4oz and larger 16oz bottles.

ok thanks for the tips. i just started with re monster and love the black label stuff so far. so mainly the big car stuff would need to cut to be used on rc is what your saying? i have tried the corn syrup stuff its OK, the red monster stuff let me get my car open up more

Yes it would need to be cut, also it would need to be with something that will allow the product to flash at lower temps.
Big car preps need quite some heat to flash and really bring the tack out.

I haven't tried the Red Monster preps as I have had good success with Monster Grip preps and don't feel the need to change but I'm sure the Red Monster stuff works good as well.

Any updates on this since last post?

Looking to at least try saucing tires. Not sure going to embrace it. Willing to give it consideration.

Wish listed the following and looking for recommendations asphalt and concrete: Drag Race Concepts, Flash Point and Gravity RC. Or???

O.K., fpv. Thanks. Went to Red Monster website and looks like RM Original is what I may try. Also looking at RM conditioner line.

Now not sure which will work for my application. Am looking for either a conditioner or prep that does not have a lot of pick up that needs to be cleaned off after a run. Doing 66ft drag racing on exclusively parking lots and side streets. So basically, a "dirty" track surface. Perhaps just a conditioner is what is needed instead of a tire prep?

My previous experience in RC drag racing was full prep (e.g., track surface prep and tire prep). It was a constant cleaning hassle with tires. Want to stay away from that if possible.

Your thoughts? Or anyone else, of course, with rubber tire prep/conditioner experience. -AC

you can try the dry tire stuff from them or the rock candy from red monster and also sell conditioner

Spent the better part of the last two days reviewing YouTube vids to get smart on tire prep. End result, am trying the Simple Green method as a beginning point of reference. Did try Armor All Wheel and Tire on one application but considered it too caustic for RC application. That's how it ended up in the photo. Not something I'll do again or recommend. Simple Green seems the simple solution. No pun intended. :)

Here's a good cleaning YT vid. I'm using it as baseline tire prep as it leaves my tires clean and a bit sticky. Sticky enough in my mind to try a couple of test passes at the 66ft drag strip.

At image bagged and tagged is my test set. Later went back and did both tires of the pairs. -AC

simple green is a great place to start i started with that to. but as i got a much more powerful set up i found to use tire Sause to work better yes it can be a pain to clean but once you find the right stuff to make the clean up faster its not bad plus i do not hot lap the car one place to let the car cool down
