I have a 2.5 revo with a ths pipe 16/40 gearing. I'm looking for more lowend grunt so would a 14 tooth cb be to low?

I counted wrong it 15/40. So if I went 13/40 or 13/38 that shouldn't be to low. I'm just looking for more lowend snap. I'm going to see what my lhs has tomorrow and go from there. Maybe an aluminum clutch also.

you can't go wrong with aluminum clutch ..and i dont think thats to low ....best way to know is to try it ..i would try the 13/40

+1 on those statements :)

I run 13/40 but i have a 3.3...
I prefer more low end snap cause i dont race and if you have great high end there is only so far your car will go B4 you can't see it anymore..
Great low end is way more fun IMO...

Give it a shot I think you will like it :)
Remember to have a good tune...

my tune is good metalhead matt fixed that issue. the needles were moving on the carb. it runs like a champ now. we will see if it will do a wheelie after i drop a few teeth on the cb. i can get a little one off of a bump.

i run 14/40 with a FOC tranny that has the close ratio in it.
i do race mine, but its on pavement in a monsterjam style racing.has a short straight away very tight corners

i ordered a 13 tooth cb and a integey aluminum clutch 3 shoe setup. i just scuff the inside of the cb and take it easy for the first tank correct?

Definatly scuff the inside of the CB...
Not sure about taking it easy on the first tank..
Dont wanna take it too easy cause you still want it to gear up to 2nd right..??

Well I got all of my parts yesterday. It really gave it some snap. I'm close it get it to wheelie with the baby 2.5. :)

Last night I ran about 500cc through it. It was a blast but I still want more snap. I guess I will be shopping for a different engine. The 2.5 is to small for a mt.

Well a 3.3 will definatly give you more snapp..
If you go even bigger you will have to upgrade a few drivetran bits a pieces...
But would be well worth it...

you can get an aftermarket engine .... or you could always use the traxxas exange program ...send them the 2.5 and you get a 3.3 at lower price ...its your choice ;)

I'm thinking about a .19t or a picco I know I will need a mount for a bb I've been reading a lot. Lol

I've been watching your build thread. How do you get your ride height that high? I have my pushrods all the way in is it also the rockers?

i have the stock P2 rockers on the one I'm building with the stock long travel springs ...and the pushrods are in the inner hole on the a-arm ......do you still have the blue spacers on your push rods ?? ..if not , maybe thats why
