I have just got some of my plans and paper work together for what i think will be a massive project. was hoping to find someone here that has some know how on a few of my down falls!!!

k rolex!!! you asked for it !!!
a plane called the widgeon, with a cockpit width of 22 inches

i have plans already, but i want to up scale them to build an ultralight amphibian!! what do you think of 3/16 plywood and fibreglass ribs and framing??

Crapazolli! I'm sure you already know you'll be needing at least a twin cylinder gas engine for it. Big bucks.
Have you got a link for it? My dog wants one.

no link yet but, am hoping to post to youtube as the build gets under way. but what i was wondering is the support inside the wing? any ideas of how to, or what might work, and yes i was thinking of two 3 clyinder rotax snowmobile engines!!

Plywood is too heavy, and fiberglass is too brittle. If anything, you'll need it the other way around. Plywood ribs and spars and fiberglass skin.
If you want RC that's one thing, but if you want to fly it from the inside, you're into an entirely different field of expertise.

these are some drawings i found on line earlier

hope these give you some idea of the plane rolex, it has a 40 foot wing span!!

You need to do some serious research on experimental planes. Simply scaling up an RC plane might mean YOU having a down fall from 400 ft. :whhooo:
You still require certain permits to fly anything home built.
Increase your insurance and update your will.

lmao!!! i know about the insurance, don't need the will!! and i am hoping it will come in under 2500 pounds, then you shouldn't need any pilots licence! granted it will have to pass an inspection, but i think that is all it would need.

I currently have a Cessna 172 kit and plans for 81 1/2 inch span. Excellent for RC, but if I wanted to get inside one, I call a friend and take another ride in his.

Just remember, you're subject to many inspections during the build, and you can't go to the next step till you've been passed and approved.

Are you sure about not needing a license? A build like that, to be legal, will most certainly need certification by the FAA prior to flight.
