Looking for a buggy..

That is a tough call, there are slim pickins for under $400.00. If you plan to bash hard or race you may want to look at raising your amount if that is possible. Then you can get in to a good Ofna or Storm. Look around $470 to $550 would get you a good buggy you would be happy with.

Simple

I assume you mean with radio? If you want to spend below 400, then the OFNA Ultra MBX PRO is a good choice. if you can spend 429 then the Violator, and if you can go even higher, get the OFNA Hyper 7 PCR Pro. You might be able to get these even cheaper if you shop.

The GS Storm is also a slammin buggy, check if you can get parts easily though at your LHS. This may be a little higher than your price range.

Plus factor for most of these you will need to change the steering servo, another 36-40 bucks.

You can find the Swift online for about the same as the RTR storm listed above from an online hobby shop. Don't count it out! It's a bad ass buggy, should check out the thred in this discussion and take note of the best support this hobby has to offer. Also check out the newest edition of Xtreme R/C Cars. There is a big review of it... it fared up very well. Especially with the radio that the RTR comes with... can't beat that.

So far so good... it has full PBS suspension and is every bit as beefy as any of the other buggies as mentioned above (MBX5, Kyosho, OFNA PCR PBS). No joke, this thing fares up way better than you would think. Check out the other thread about it and PRP's website about it. The support and help you get from the guys that created this thing is AMAZING.

Dude, happytime hobby (the people who bring you the Swift) is RIGHT there in your town! Parts are NOT an issue for the swift. Like I said, go to their site, check out the thread for the swift... the support is out of this world. I have talked to Roger from the team many times and he is the kindest person I think I have ever talked to... takes his time talking with me and helping out, doesn't rush at all, and is very patient. He even helped me tune the car long distance over the phone! There are lots of options out there... I was very iffy about buying one and I really am glad I did now. The support is unbeleiveable and parts are very interchangable with other buggies if something does break and even at that, you are in San Diego! I had a problem with a CVJ pin and roger immediately sent me new pins and I had them in my hand 2 business days later. No charge, I didn't even ask... he jsut did it and wrote a little note in the pack with what to do to ensure I put everything back together with out having to worry about it ever again.

The hot bodies lightening is really nice as well from what I hear, the OFNA line has a lot to offer, Kyosho, Mugen... depending on what you want to spend, you can kind of iron your options out... but without breaking the bank and getting definitely the best bang for the buck, the Swift seems to be about the best for now.

Call up Roger at Happy Time Hobby (PRP). He is a great guy and will be able to help you out. Their site is: http://www.happytimehobby.com They will be able to give you accurate answers to your questions and let you know whatever you want to know. It's worth calling him up either way just to find out general info on the buggy, answer any questions you may have, find out where to get it from, where to get parts from and so on.

I know for a fact that there are shops in your area that have it and parts for it. No worries.

No prob... good luck and let us know what you end up with! If you need anymore help, let us know... there is a weath of knowledge on these boards, make use of it. :D
