I'm looking for a battery pack for my Savage. I have the stock server but I am going to upgrade to a better steering servo soon. I'm looking on onlybatterypacks online and wonder if the 4.8volt will handle the upgraded server. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You want a 6volt pack if you are going to do it. 5 cell. Orion makes an AWESOME 1200mAh pack but a standard NiMh 1,000 mAh 5 cell pack should be fine. 2 over 3 cells.

If you have a reverse servo I'm not certain on whether or not it will fit. But, if you dont have reverse I know for a fact it will. And you can still fit a venom or ofna failsafe in there.

Hitec HS-5645mg is a damn good servo for steering. Best bang for the buck IMO.

Make sure whichever pack you get, you buy a new switch that has an additional lead for charging. Its hard enough to fumble with the radio tray, much less pulling it apart to charge your pack.

Yes the 5 cell config will work if you do not have reverse.

The mAh rating, voltage and use determines how long they last. If you get the right charger you will be able to rapid charge them in the field if they start to slip on performance. Bottom line, they last a hell of a lot longer than regular batteries by a long shot! Months and months if charged properly and stored properly.
