yeah..thats what i keep seeing.... i would love to do the .21 but money is tight... and i didnt want to drope 110 on a 3.3 if i can have something with alil more power

The .21 is only about $20 more than the .19t...Ofcourse its not listed as a direct drop in replacement but I don't believe you would have to modify anything. Contact Dynamite and find out for sure. Ebay has got em going for $129 and the .19t for $109. There is a .21 with 3 days left and the bidding is only at $61, camp out on that one and snipe at the last few seconds and try and pick it up cheap.

i would but already won a .19 on the ebay... I'm waiting on the guy to email me back about it.... cause he has it posted 2 diff times..if that falls thru ill deff look at the .21

yeah i dont think I'm going to get the .19t now. the guy that has it listed on ebay is saying that it will be a direct replacement for the traxxas engine....and he has the old non updated engine list for sale. he tryed to tell me to just buy the updated backplate cause they are cheap.....i told him that I'm not going to do that, so I'm going to wait and see what happenes i might ended up with the .21 will have to find out what it will take to make it work....ill keep ya guys posted

Hmm, well the .19t is a direct replacement. There was a point in time where the Dynamite engine had an issue (about 2 years ago from what I have read) but that has since been fixed. If anything the .21 might only require a motor mount. Although I'm pretty sure it does not accept the EZ start system so a pull start is required if you dont get the one that comes with it.

yeah i know that was a few years ago... the person selling it wasn't able to verfy if it was the updated or the old....so i told him i wasn't paying for something that was right.

Well I looked into doing the Dynamite .21 as an upgrade and a new mount is required. The best one to use is the New Era BB mount, it comes with new throttle linkage setup aswell. It will allow you to use a pullstart without any modifications. Another thing that was recommended is an OS .21 engine spacer. I'm not to sure what this would be required for since this mount will adjust up, down, left and right. Also recommended to start with atleast an 18t clutchbell, and the New Era BB head package if your gonna keep the rear exhaust, Personally I plan to go with a side exhaust.

The only problem that I can see so far is New Era is currently out of stock on the BB mount and I don't see any of them anywhere else for sell. Anyone know of any places other than NE to get there BB Mount for the Revo?

thanks for the info, i think I'm goona go the .21 rout also..... i didnt get the .19t cause the guys was shady and he didnt even tell me that he re-listed it on ebay..... yeah I'm not a big fan on side mount exhausts on the revo i would deff be doing rear mount....let me know hwta else u find out about the set up....

Will do bud, its not a necessary upgrade but if you wanted to lengthen the chassis a bit 3Racing makes an extended chassis for like $70.

that will give it the extra room that it needs right.....dont the newer 3.3 already have a bigger chassis

Even with the 3Racing chassis I believe the New Era mount is still needed. Check out this info.

The 3.3 chassis is infact longer than the 2.5 chassis, but the 3Racing chassis is like 30mm longer than the 3.3 chassis.

this BB mount is sweet, only thing i found out is the throttle linkage needed tweaked a but to get the slide on the carb to work freely and smooth.
I would recommend upgrade your clutch to 1/8 scale clutch and CB
i have a lrp.30 and used integy aluim 3shoe kit.......
well i will use nice voice and say the shoe's melted in 3 tanks and that was during the break-in on a new engine.... replace the shoe's with a used set and finished break-in. bought brand new shoe's put them in and in 4 hole shots again shoe's melted... now truck is sitting waiting on 1/8 flywheel and alloy shoe's

yes even with the 3racing you would still need a new era mount if the engine is not a direct drop in,
in the picture w/ the 3.3 chassis and the 3racing chassis the extra 30mm length is between the trans and the front shocks

That engine is nice but its more than parevo3.3 or myself is wanting to spend on a new mill. Personally if I were going to buy a direct drop in for the Revo and spend a nice chunk of change I would go with the Picco .26 JL Red Dot. With the Dynamite .21 and the new era BB mount we are still spending less than that mill costs alone.

Although I am buying the Picco .26 JL RD for my T-Maxx when they come available again!

Thanks for the input, any is welcome as It seems we are still learning the Nitro hobby. Both my Revo and T-Maxx upgrades are going to be learning experiences for me!

I would recommend upgrade your clutch to 1/8 scale clutch and CB

This is something else I was looking into, I don't think it is necessary for the .21 but my biggest question is will it fit and what kind of modifications would you have to make. Aswell is Mod 1 in 1/8th the same as 1/10th?

yeah i looked at the big high end mills and like overide said I'm not looking to spend that much.. i can buy a whole used truck for that much....I'm trying to get my truck running and dont want to stay with a 3.3 mill....if i have too i will.....hey overide if u wanna sell ur 3.3 mill when u get the new mill let me know...i need 2 mills one for the revo n one for my jato

maybe some of the guys with .21's will chime in on it, I do know with a .30 its a must

you would have to mod the chassis a bit, fairly simple OLDS has done a right up on it, i"ll try to find it and put the link in here

Found it its post #2 in this https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60785&highlight=revo+1/8+clutch

Thanks for the info! Yeah it would be nice if someone who has a done a .21 conversion that IS NOT a drop in would chime in...Honest to God truth is for the little extra money it takes to upgrade to the Dynamite "Big Red" mill it seems that not to many are really interested in the .21. Also the fact that you CAN buy drop in mills that are better than a .21...Personally though I think a .21 will be plenty of power for the Revo, especially for what I'm gonna be doing. I don't really care to much about top end as I don't have huge areas to run it in and if I do decide to race this thing (even if its only a few times here and there) I think the .21 will be plenty of power! Ofcourse thats my 2Cents...

Well all in all man, since money does seem to be something to look at here, the .19 drop in may just be the best route for you to go. It will give you an increase in power and it will be better than the 3.3. I wish I had the money to go ahead and order all this and do the .21 upgrade though, atleast then you would have some better ideas of what you might be getting into.

As for me selling off the 3.3, that might be something we can talk about. Depending on how it acts with the Revo (since I finally got a different carb for it and sealed up the motor) I may decide to keep it for a future project down the road. Chances are I probably won't be keeping it but who knows. I will keep you informed on it either way.

that sounds good.....i dont really want another 3.3 but i have a roller i want to sell so....i might just do the .19 and see how it is, and if i want more ill do the .21 and thro the .19 in my jato......like u said we all want a decent drop in but they are very pricey....so we will see.....

I emailed New Era the other day about the BB mount...
Hello,

I was wanting to know if and when the Revo 3.3 BB mount w/linkage will become available again? I was also curious if this would mount a Dynamite Mach2 .21 with pullstart? I know it says that it will work with just about any engine but I have not been able to find anyone that has dropped a Dynamite .21 in this truck.

Thanks,
Robert

This was the response...
Hi Robert,

The dynamite Mach .21 will fit. We should have these back in stock by the end of this week.

Thanks,
Frank
