Blue loctite, because it's removable.
I'll be totally honest with you here.....I never loctite anything and have had good luck without it. However, if you don't have good tools or you do have something coming loose, it's a must. I would recommend doing the engine bolts.
It's obviously good for use on any metal to metal application, but once you strip out a bolt head you'll learn to use it on troublesome parts only.

So only metal to metal? What about plastic, if I do loctite should I locktite all the chassis screws

Yes, only metal on metal.
I have loctited the plastic pillow ball caps on traxxas trucks, but you should never need it for plastic.

Blue lock tite all metal to metal fasteners, Plastic generally isnt necessary since the screws in plastic dont generally vibrate loose. If they should happen to do so though they do make a lock tite for plastic Its either green or purple I can't remember right off the top of my head, you would have to do some research. Just never use red lock tite. Its more or less permanent :)

Hi,
I would recommend Not thread locking any motor screws other than those on the underneath motor mount!

What happens is, they heat up and then don't that stuff get soft and turn loose?

Don't put it directly on your engine block screws. Not even for the roto-Start 2 back plate.
That just isn't smart.

I use it all all my engine screws, backplate and all. Never had any issue with it. Even if it does soften a lil its still better than not having anything anythere IMO.

hi,
If ever, I Just check a couple motor screws every few runs for looseness, if any loose then tighten all, but I'd never thread lock motor screws.
Each his own though

I agree. I've never had an engine or engine mount come loose.

I've had to use red loctite on my engine mount bolts on the tmaxx when i stuck the picco on it due to vibration causing the rear ones to cone loose and eat spur gears. I put it on the top ones and left the bottom ones clean so i could still remove the engine. I also have to use red on the bottom bolts of my buggy steering arms due to the fact they kept falling out. Just use very little not gobs of it and you will still be able to remove the bolts. As far as backplate bolts most of them come stock with blue loctite on them anyways. Same with pullstart bolts and ezstart bolts.

Check out the Loctite QuickStix 248 for sure! no dripping, no mess, no waste. I've built and repaired many RC's with a single stick and I've still have A LOT left. Well worth the money.

And only need to loctite metal to metal.

@WoodiE Dang if only the post had happened a week earlier lol...I just bought a new bottle of loctite but you can bet I'll be trying those sticks out next time around...at least if they are still 10 bucks anyway....The original price says 30....I aint paying 30 bucks for no locktite :)

I see them listed for $10-20 on both ebay and Amazon all the time. I think that $30 price is a MSRP really. Even at $20, a stick will last you forever!

I like the idea of a stick cuz usually what happens with the liquid is to much comes out and you have to dab it on a paper towel and then you just wasted half of your locktite. Seems like this wouldnt be an issue with the stick :)

Thanks for all your input I have one quick question for all of you who own a revo 3.3.

Have any of you noticed that the revo will just fall apart as you drive/bash the truck?

Mine didn't because I used LocTite 248 on all the metal to metal connections.
