Hey guys i searched the forums for this but couldnt find anything on locking your diffs so i figured i post it here. This is part 1 of 2 tutorials

Locking differentials with JB Weld

I'm using an Emaxx diff for this, but the concept is the same for all gear diffs

Step 1: Disassemble the diff you want to lock and clean any excess grease off the gears

Step 2: Break out the JB weld, this can be found at just about every store that sells hardware. Squeeze out two equal amounts on a piece of cardboard . The cards of off parts bags work well for this. Now, mix the JB Weld until its a uniform color

Step 3: Insert the output gear (the one opposite of the ring gear) and fill the diff with JB Weld. Then, insert the spider gears.

Step 4: Insert the other output in the ring gear and re-assemble the diff

When the diff in assembled, I like to give it a twist or two to help spread the JB Weld over the gears. Now keep in mind, this is pretty much permanent so if you don't want to go this far, stick around for part 2.

Thanks a lot for posting this useful bit of information. This will apply to TXT and clod axles as well. Should be very helpful to the members of the site.

looking good. i prefer 2 part epoxy but it all works the same in the end.
