Hey guys,

I ordered my Savage X 4.6 & have more questions. Is anyone using a locker in the rear instead of differental gears? I am also going to install a Futaba high torque metal gear steering servo & am looking for a servo saver. I would appreciate any suggestions.

can't help with the servo saver but I can tell you to stay far away from the spooled (locker) rearend. I have never heard of anyone having anything but problems with a locked diff. If you want it to act like a locked diff without breaking stuff then get some really heavy diff oil (100k+) or even some stuff called diff lock fluid.

^^+2 lockers put a lot of power to the ground but your rig will suffer.
This is a picture of my locker all twisted my cvd's didn't look any better

Well I guess that solves the locker question. I have lockers on my rock crawler , but that doesn't go nearly as fast as the savage. Thanks for the help guys.

I am not sure if my dif gears are factory or replacements since i got it used this summer but in my dif's both front and back there is a small allen screw u can turn inwards to adjust ur limit slip from long slip to strait posi trac. i have my bak set tight and my front set with very mild slip and man she can turn a very mean 3 wheeled donut with that set up.....mind u i have the tread on rear tires shaved for skidability in turns

Are you sure thats what the allen screw is for? Never heard of any kind of setup like this. Can you post some pics maybe?

Yeah... I think those allens were just to help getting the pin in, or to fill with fluid...

To adjust "diff" strength, you put in heavier oil. I run 50K oil in my diffs.
