RC Driving Style
Ok today I'm out driving at the baseball fields and theres athis huge mound of clay, Well i come flying in at about my t-maxxes top speed whish is probably 25-35 mph. Hit it wrong, nose goes into the ground, and i hear this (click). The sound of plastic parts breaking, so i look and theres no obvious damage but then notice i broke both bulkheads right where they connect to the chassie.
O well its still holding together and running fine so i carry on with bashing. Next i hit this hill flip over back wards on the engine head and it dies. So i start it back up and hit the gass and all it does is revup. This is obviously the end of my car's day, so i bring it back home and take the engine off and i broke th engine mount.
So today i broke the engine mount, two bulkheads, bent the front skid plate, and lost a bout 5 skrews on the truck. luckly i have a good paying job for my age (15 years old), I get paid 8 dollars an hour. Atleast it was fun and i love working on my truck.

i know how u fell.... I'm only 15 and just before i did a .21 conversion on my maxx i crack both front bulk head, crack the skid plate in half, broke 2 A-arms and crack that rod that turn the wheelis (4got the name). I dont have a job either so whatever money i get it goes str8 into R/C's.

If u dont mind me asking ... where do u work that u get paid 8$ a hour an your 15 ???

Seeing how you got a good job and can aford parts buy some good aluminum bulks for your maxx (about $85) and a good motor mount is only $20 or so.

Don't waste your $ on integy bulks or a motor mount. I have a thread in the F/S forum and I"m selling some used al bulks, but the front ones are almost new.

Even if you don't buy them from me, ACNCM make really beefy ones and great assemblies or rc-solutions make the best ones available.

New Era makes a really nice engine mount.

I plann on getting rc-solutions bulks, the engine mount that traxxas sells for 10$, and I'm replacing a whole bunch of skrews (skidplate, steering colunm, etc.). I'm going to get an rc-solutions rollcage for my birthday. I work for this guy thats does construction he calls me about every weekend and i work for him. He pais really good i mainly do landscaping for him. This past summer i helped him get ready for his daughters wedding, cleaned up his church, and also landscaped his daughters house. I mainly plant trees and shrubs spread bark etc.

This is off subject but what brant/type of shocks should i get for my max. Currently i have the origional plastic ones.

You guys sound like you're having fun with your trucks, and that's what it's all about. You don't have to invest alot of money into these toys with all those fancy aluminum upgrades if you can't afford them. This hobby can get real expensive, real fast if you start making unnecessary upgrades. Like Olds said, look for some new parts someone is trying to get rid of, or even ebay. These trucks are like a Harley, the original purchase isn't so bad, but the companies, and hobby shops make the majority of thier money on aftermarket parts...........and yes I have a Harley and a Maxx, so I know. Keep on bashin' the hell outta them, and drive it like you stole it!!!!
