Are u suppose 2 get dirty oil/fuel dripping from the bottem og the chassis ??? casue i ran testerday and i was goin 2 clean up up know and it is on and around the engine an gas take ??? but i also was in soome water yesterday could that be it ???

It's hard to say. As engines wear and get old, the main bearing on the front of the engine behind the flywheel will start leaking. It doesn't normally pose to big of a problem until it gets really bad and starts sucking air.

You may have a hairline crack in your fuel tank or you missed the hole on the tank when filling it. The fuel has oil in it. As soon as you dump some anywhere, the methanal evaporates and leaves the oil behind. The oil picks up lots of dirt fast.

I think i missed the ank casue i a brand new engine...

The maxx tank is prone to breakage. I broke 9 of them in 5 months... 1 hard landing will crack the tank. It normally cracks around the legs where it screws to the chassis.

Pull the tank off, clean it and inspect for cracks. If you have a crack in a tank, it does more than make a mess. It will make tuning erratic and more than likely make it run hot.

TRAXXAS engines are also known for having a leaky main bearing. It is quite possible that the engine is just leaking spent fuel/oil through the main bearing.

If it is excessive, then check for a busted fuel tank as mentioned above.

You might want to check the exhaust gasket. If there's a tear in there or it's not replaced, the oil will leak from that spot as well.

I had/have the problem with the damn Traxxas leaky main bearing, it sucks so bad. I don't worry about the oil/grease crap too much. But it does get annoying.

It not a traxxas its a OS 18. I would never keep that 2.5 in my truck.

Depending on where on the chassis plate this liquid is, it could be from the fuel tank (cracked as mentioned above). It could be from the leaky main bearing which is not unique to only TRAXXAS engines (while more common amongst TRAXXAS engines it can happen on others and often does). It could be from the exhaust header gasket as mentioned. It could be from a loose cooling head...which would make the engine run rough despite tuning. Or it could simply be from the exhaust stinger spraying stuff on the underside of the chassis. Do you run an exhaust deflector? If not, then I would think that this might be the main source for the fuel/oil under the chassis.

Were I you, I'd check all of the above.

I think it was my fuel line casue it was sliding off my tank. and also i dont use a exhaust director, i have a stinger so it shootd right out the back...
