Ok I just got a team losi mico desert truck. I bought the lipo battery hop up for it also. Well I charged it once, and its starting to run out of charge. My question is, do you have to completly discharge this thing before recharging it? And does anyone know how to do that, I shure as heck can't find any instructions on how to with the pack. I just dont want to jack up a 50 $ battery that is the size of a quarter lol.

Cool beans thanks rolex. No fancy charger, just the supplied charger that came with the kit from losi. Seems to work ok.

Okay. You're good to go. As long as the charger is made for LiPos you won't have a problem. Don't EVER try to charge them with any other method.

I read all the little writing that goes with the battery and got worried thats why I posted. I think to much info went to my head lol. But ya, it says right on it, for lipo's only! Thanks again. On to messing around with this sucker!~

I even got the wrong info from the guy where I bought a new Cell phone. This was the phone company STORE, not a counter at a K-mart.
It has a LiPo in it, and he explained to me (and obviously everyone else who ever bought a phone there) to run it down to empty, till the phone shuts off, then give it a full charge. Do this 3 times.
Fine, if they were the same NiCads of 4 years ago, but these are LiPos. I felt like explaining it to him, but didn't want to waste any more time there.
New LiPos need a slow charge at 1/2 their capacity the first time. Beyond that, it's charge and go. Wall chargers are always trickle chargers, so there's nothing you can do to alter or change either the initial charge or the later ones.

I have meet more then a few arigant sales men like this. Usually in hobby shops that work on commision, or dirt bike shops that just want to make a buck! But this little lipo shure woke up this little truck, I can't emagine what one would do in my rc18. I need to get off my ass and lay down the dough and get one.

Plug it in and let it rip man! What are you sitting on here for lol. But really youll be so impressed.

i was sitting there while it was charging..
huge difference, and the run time is amazing

A lot of guys are hesitant to go with lipos because of the initial cost of the batts as well as the new charger.
Once you've taken the leap, you can't go back to those kiddie batts you used to use. They are just amazing.

k, thanks, lipos are supposed to get warm right? the instructions with the battery say when hot to the touch observe for 15 minutes, but warm is ok right? after a run?
