I have a Spectrum S150 mini smart charger. Does it apply a balance charge to a LiPO when charging? Any information about charging Lipo’s would be appreciated.

most of use us the vehicle the battery is installed in to run voltage of battery down to storage voltage.. many chargers have a storage mode on them some take hours to discharge down to storage voltage.but others use a discharger to do this or do a home build discharger. I use the good old 1157 brake light bulbs with a battery buzzer installed thru a balance board.. storage is about 3.75 volts some say more some go less I'm on the lesser side.always store in a lower humidity area and cool/dry place in a safe fireproof location..there are mods to adjust the old school reactor dischargers for nicads or nimh.. w.5 to 30 amp dischargers..

How do know when to stop running the vehicle to get voltage down to storage voltage?

whats you lvc set at?.you will have some bounce back with a lipo .thats a slight rise in voltage when lvc kicks and it sits for a time more than 1 minute..this hobby takes some time from you to keep everything safe and last a tad longer ..might have to go to a boneyard(real car salvage or junk yard)find a mid 90 to earlier car with a rear window brake light or even a taillight with a bulb holder and some wire snips and cut 1 off. also need battery displace device of some type plug it in read voltage and then take it down to voltage 1 wants. a led light wont work as there amperage are way lower ..the bulb alone. the deans is for a different use that your charger can not do(charge a single cell(bulb is about a 5 amp draw)

Hi Badgerman
This is what I use for my Lipos to discharge - store, etc. Lipo Batteries. If you have more than 3 or 4 batteries., this is the best 35 bucks you can spend. Chargers are very inefficient at discharging batteries.
