If I gear my xs for 3s lipo can I still use 2s lipo on it? Or would it be bad idea? Is it even a good idea to 3s gear it in the first place?

Yes, it is recommended that you gear it to run on 3s if that's what you plan to run on. All your doing is adding a few teeth to the spur gear to help keep the motor temps low. You can still run it on 2s with that gearing, but it will be a lot slower than what your used to.

Ahh I got it. I wanted to run 2s anyway but I wasn't sure if the gearing would give a little more pep. 3s on that little truck seems a little much.. Just also seems there's a hudge shortage of the battery I want lol. Hpi part 101942. Can't get them anywhere right now. Drivin me nuts

Alright. Will do. Was tryin to stick with hpi batteries but guess it doesn't hurt to look at others. And omg are the dam hex pins on this fragile... Didn't even run it yet and broke one... Sighs. Hard to find too. A lot of things for this are. Hope it doesn't turn into a mini bundle of regret lol

I use sky lipo 3300 mah hardcase packs and they fit in the box nice and tight. Not that I can use it but a 4 cell soft case pack 3300 also fits. Not sure how you broke a hex pin without running it. I only run on 3s and haven't broken one of those. Axles are a little different story :)

Also make sure the lipos you get are at least 30c. I run 40c in mine

Well I took a wheel off to install a wheelie bar and put the wheel back on and the pin wasn't centered in the hex and I didn't notice and I tightened the wheel and I heard snap...Sure enough there went a pin.... Be careful for that... Pretty easy mistake to make. 6 years in the hobby never had that happen before

And I have 2 hpi plazma 7.4 volt 5300 mah 30c batts for it right now. 2s. Again a hard battery to get a hold of... Out of stock like everywhere
