Oh yeah, that makes me want to go out and spend a few hundred on a couple packs... Nice find.

The battery is clearly being mistreated. The temp on my lipo batteries right at full charge or only a couple of degrees from room temp. I know it can happen but if you treat them right and inspect them for damage it should be fine.

BTW, any battery can explode, these just look a little more violent LOL

LiPo batteries are just as safe and reliable as any other battery unless you mistreat it an use it improperly. It's like sayin that nimh batteries are really dangerous because one person charged and discharged them at 20 amps for two days straigh and it caught fire.

I've read that if a lipo pack is damaged(cracked open)depending on humidity can burst into flames

I wasn't trying to say LiPo battery packs were unsafe I just thought it was a cool video and thought you all might like to watch it.....

I'm still leary of getting lipo until they put them in a hard case standard. The last thing I want is that happening if I clip a board (which I do quite frequently, lol).

I hope it doesn't happen to my rig, but if it does I hope someone get some good video of the explosion. I want something to keep if I waste an $800 racing rig.

That would easily burn down a house, scary! Ever light a dried pine tree on fire, your house has no chance either!
