Limiting straps on VESLA

I watched meyers two stroke garage a lot during my 71 supreme VESLA build , he is collapsing his shocks to get the axles level, is this a well known thing on beastly rc’s , I’ve been doing this with giant zip ties. , wich hasn’t worked well , I ordered the flange kit and wondering opinions on this adjustment , thank you for your responces
