RC Driving Style
my broothers wanting to sell me his 1/8 lightning buggy and he is saying he wants 200$ for it and i think thats a littlt high. I think he bought it for about 300 new hi had driven a gallon exactly, no aRO after running, exery time it broke i would fix it for him, so i have knolwdge of the buggy. i was just wondering if that was a reasonable price. I know hes my bro but i dont want him to rip me off, cuz he would if it was money. Whats a good price for this buggy? oh and it it has no hopups.
 
It sounds pretty fair to me, if it comes with an engine, and radio. Why is he selling it? What kind of shape is it in? Does it come with any extra parts, or equipment like glow starter, starter box (probably a pull start huh), or temp gun? Have you though about making a deal with you T-Maxx? Just some things to think about. Alot of guys like the Lightning, and I'll tell you after wrecking the Mugen, the Lightning is a heck of alot cheaper to fix.
 
Not sure about the prices cos I'm in england its hard to judge..But i will tell you the lightnings are amazing buggies.. I take it its a lightning2..?
As far as hopups are concerned.. You can basically hop it up to the Lightning2 pro spec if you wanted to.. As i am doing with mine..

it seems like a fair price but family should be free. I know it may seem like a "Hand me down" kinda deal but like I said, family should be free. I had tons of things I didn't use anymore and gave away for free to my niece and nephew well worth more than the cost of a buggy. One day you will give something back to your bro for free.....like maybe a get out of jail freebie.
 
well he is all about money he would never jsut give me the buggy and as for the stuff it comes with it the buggy, radio, golw igniter,basically all he has with it. He would never trade for the maxx cuz he knows i dont like it etc. Oh and its the lightning rtr not the lightning 2 its the origional one. I just wasn't sure what i good price would be for it, and i didnt want my own bro riping me off, it also comes w/ the HB.21 engine. I think i may get it thanks for the help and input all.

It's not rather you like it, or not. Tell him its rathe he likes it, or not. I still say it is a fair price, but not a penny more if the deal has to be so complicated, and only if you really won't it.

Keep in mind, these are only opinions. Do what you want to do.
 
Nah i reacon offer 150 and leave it at that, its a used stock lightning, not that great and not that useless but i wouldnt pay any more than half price for a used car, just me being tight or maybe theres something in it, I've brought second hand before and you will always have something go wrong, brother or not :)))))
