What did you need for the roller cam for the non roller block? How much work was that? I know the gold color is classic, but i dont really like it...

:boxing: Gee, thanks for being honest... :boxing:

There's roller cam conversions from many companies, mine is from Comp cams. I won't go into all the techical fluff, but with a roller cam you can have a higher lift and a faster ramp rate without the poor idle quality of a flat tappet cam. Plus you are getting rid of all of the friction of a flat tappet cam. That's why I have roller rockers too (both cars)...

The gold is hard to photograph, you might like it in person, and at least it isn't red like 90% of the other '65/'66 Mustangs on the road! :jk:

Here is a pic of my Mustang... 12 Hours of work over a weekend... I was amazed on how much i got done, and even more amazed at what i found...

I will check out the roller cam options... Where did you buy yours? Is it a racing cam, or a good streetable cam?

Nice '68. I see you've put some discs on it. What are your other plans?

I'll dig up the cam info at home and pm you. It's very streetable...

Of course, you've got a red Mustang, so can you help me pull my foot out of my mouth?

It's actually a '67... If i had more money, my plans could come true, and they may with time, but for now, they are very secret!!! lol... i really dont know what i want to do with it... It wont be completely red... gonna white with red comp stripes... Minimal chrome around the whole car... the rims are the only thing that might resemble chrome... I'm currently dissasembling it so it and all the big parts that are going to be painted can go out to the bead blaster...

Well a head on shot without sheetmetal it looked to be '67 or '68. The inside rear view mirror looks like a '68 so that's what I assumed it was. Cool ideas...

I'll get you cam info tonight...

I looked into the roller cam stuff... $1200 for the conversion plus i still need some parts.. i think that is a bit much... I think i will wait untill i get a new engine for that...

That's when I did mine. Built a nice 289 with Speed Pro coated pistons, roller cam, CNC Power Heads, and then ported the iron four barrel intake...

I think I'm gonna stick with the flat tappet cam, but I'm gonna get a new one with a new chain and lifters. Gonna get a 4 barrel instead of the 2 barrel i have... Gonna get a new intake. New Hooker super comp headers... New bearings and rings all around. MSD electronic ignition... I think it will be a good little engine... Hopefully it wont be a huge gas guzzler...

I should have started a thread on pics of your classic/resto job done or in progress :) Your stang shouldnt do to bad on gas .21Rc10GT its a fairly light car and not a huge bigblock its a 289 right? It will however drink it down if you dont keep your foot out of it lmao but what fun is that right :jet:. Man you have done a lot to it since I last seen it. looking good....nice to see you are reparing saftey type things ,disk breaks, sway bar. Have you done the rest of the suspension? Ball joint, bushing that type stuff? Most young guys would spend all of there money on wheels and tires and a 5000 dollar stereo system, good job!!!!! I would recomend going with polygraphite bushing. I installed them on a 69 Valiant and that thing handled 10 time better than before and was very responsive. The downside is they tend to squeek when you go over bumps but i think they make some kind of lube now to prevent that. I bought them when the first became popular around 1990. Keep up the good work. A friend of mine has 2 Older mustangs he restored to there origianl state they are sweet, Next time I see them Ill get some pics

I did get some Poly bushings for the rear... New springs all around. New control arms. The poly bushings bind up somethin fierce... I'm gonna go with a del-u-lum bearing... doesn't bind at all. Yeah, i put a thicker sway bar on the front, put a rear bar on it. No stereo yet... I dont need a big one... The rims and tires are gonna cost like $2,000.... The rims are like $1200... I wanna put some rack and pinion steering on this thing... but at around $2,000 for the kit, i think it will be put on hold. I am currently working on dissasembling the doors, and it has turned into a disaster... What a mess of f'n parts that i can't see... The screws to take the glass are rusted in and the heads were stripped before i even got in there... I have to drill em out... I'm hoping i will get these doors back together... They are so frustrating its not even funny... I mean like take a hammer and throw it through a window frustrating... Luckily, i havent done that yet... :hammer: My neighbor is gonna help me with the engine. He is also going to replace my rusted out floor pans. I will take some more pics when i get a little further in the progress... :smoke:

Sounds like your going to have one bad ass Stang :). I know what you man about gettign frustrated, when I replaced the wheel cylinders on my Impala I thought I was going to looses my mind the nut that hold them to the backing plate was rusted really bad. 3 days of spraying it with wd 40 and my brother and I on a 1 inch drive finally busted it loose. The nut on the cylinder is like 3/4 inch! I was glad when we got that over and done with :)

can't live without WD-40!!! Fortunately, i havent found any bolts on my car that are that rusted... If i did, it wasn't that hard... I have 290+lbs to throw on the breaker bar :hammer: I think the bolt which i had the most trouble with is the front upper and lower ball joint studs going through the spindles. Those took forever, maybe it had something to do with my undersized hammer. I broke my 3lb sledge trying to pound some stakes in the ground... I mushroomed the heads on those bolts so bad, and they werent moving. Then, i got another 3lb sledge from my grandpa and on the first swing, they all popped out!!! Man, that sucked... Well, back to work on the car!!! Later
