I guess since the pack you bid on is nothing special they are real. Kindof misleading, they picture that one label but the pack you're bidding on falls well short of the numbers in the pic.

Looks like you won anyway. If you're making your own pack, though, I'd suggest these: http://www.nimhbattery.com/mh-2c500.htm

Those cells would make a nice sport pack but are not what anyone racing is looking for.

Why not? I mean they're almost double the mah than most batteries that they sell in hobby stores? I've been buying batteries from that place for a few years, mostly 2300 mah AA batteries but still the run time off 5000 mah C batteries. Bare minumim if you're not looking for run time you can slap a brushless and let it go full force and have the run time of a restricted brushless with the increased speed and acceleration.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cell specs on the batteries you purchased. As a matter of fact they are very well matched.

Yeah I did win that one pack and the guy actually lowered the price because I bought two set of packs and the other pack appeared to be very well matched (if the numbers he posted are true). All I do is race around CA and I need to bring the A game because the big dawgs have been showing up at the tracks like Matt Francis (i.e. Team Losi) and other really good drivers so I am trying to get a least 6 sets of race level packs and I have 4 thus far but only one of the packs stands out IMO so I was trying to get one more high level race pack for the second A-Main stock truck. I use my really good pack right now for the A-main in pro stock buggy.

I live in the Outer Mission area but I race in Sacramento at Capital City RC Center as well as a race track in Antoich from time to time when I feel like driving.

I would think you could find much better packs then that though.....

They're not all that well matched on charge time, that is to be expected though for smaller companies....

El, the cells need to be roar approved. Also their average voltage and internal resistance would prolly be really high.

Well I reguarly place 2nd in my A-main in buggy and truck class running 5:12/ 10 laps when Matt Francis from Team Losi runs regularly in the 5:02/ 11 laps in Mod Buggy so the batteries cannot be all together that bad.

Yeam, um, well Matt Francis is running mod buggy with a hand wound motor with the best battery packs anyone can buy....not to mention more tires choices than most lhs....he brings them in several hug boxes....not to mention the guy can drive circles around the vast majority of people

Oh I understand that, he also isn't running 1.14 cells either.

maybe try reading the post i.e. "the best battery packs anyone can buy."

Maybe try understanding that buying 1.14 cells isn't helping your cause. You could have 1.17 cells any day of the week from a number of higher end matchers.

Please tell us where you are getting your battery packs and for how much? Also please list the stats for the battery packs you have used and more importantly have you ever won any national events or anything along those lines? If so please list the class, date, and location of the event.

I am not about to fork out $100 for one set of batteries when I am not racing R/C for a living....if I was then I would...

You can get Epic cells with the numbers like shown in the pic for that auction, for $64.00 a pack. Pro Match has stuff in the same range along with some other companies, I can give you more prices and contact numbers if you'd like.

I've raced my way to 12th qualifying spot at the Snowbirds without any help from anyone but don't get to run that many big shows. Hope to run the carpet oval nats next month, I'll let you know how I do....

I got two packs with the less than stellar numbers for $45 total so I paid 22.50 with shipping for both. That is why I am not that upset about less than top level performance. Both batteries took 3800 Mah the numbers listed on the packs were conservative as the capacity is there.

Good luck in your future races remember to squeeze the trigger and roll through the corners. Keep it smooth and in the middle.

Where'd you get two packs for $45.00???

I'm looking for some practice packs for oval and you can't beat that deal.

You can check out www.kinetixrc.com for great prices on GP cells as well. The 5000 mah cells are neither roar legal or the correct size either. They are C cells and RC cars use sub C cells. They would not fit well in anything and the voltage probably sucks pretty bad as well.
