Just knocked 30 years of dust off this thing. Can't remember all the upgrades, but titanium turnbuckles/screws, Hydradrive for sure.

Funny, I removed the receiver case and shrink wrapped it to lose weight. Lol

At your local track, you should see if they have a vintage race. This and your RC10 would do perfect. Well maybe if you modernize them a little bit, lol. My local track (The Track in Gaithersburg) had a vintage race full of vintage STs, Buggies, and Tamiya cars back in april. It was cool. Couldn't go but on a normal club race day we raced a vintage tamiya class. If I am correct, in September, Adrenaline RC has a vintage offroad nationals race.

This is how I remember RC cars. My first race-grade buggy was the JRX Pro. No upgrades and zero idea of how setup works. Good times.

My friend had its twin way back when they were new. That thing was AMAZING!!!
I would buy and race ( a properly parts supported) re release right now! I don't have a big box of spares and that stuff!
Very cool collection! I am so curious to see what todays electronics will do in this car!

If you plan on racing that with power poles on it Id change those connectors to something newer .tried to run those one year but they would come unplugged ..if your going to run lipo youll need to change the pinion to a higher tooth count..nice rc to see

Nice blast from the past :)

Must have been assembled wrong, or damaged. I use Anderson PowerPoles in non-RC applications and they are solid. They have been replaced in RC by better options but still perform the same as they have for several decades.
