can you convert this into a truggy? what exactly do i need to get to convert it? longer arms? what brands? etc. I just picked up a 7.5 really cheap in really great condition but i would like to make it into a truggy if possible. or should i sell it and but a jamming or hellfire?
thanks for any input.

edit!!!
nevermind i did some searching!!!

You can turn buggies into truggies & 6 months ago it was a good way to go, now with the LSP & X1CRT I'm not so sure.

The quickest way is to fit wheel adaptors like the Proline ones Part #6034-03:-

You will need their 23mm hex wheels to suit & tires.

The next problem is one of gear ratio's, see this thread:-

Make sure you read through all of it carefully! Basically Hotbodies LSP crown & pinion gears will fit the Kyosho diffs to give you the right ratio's.

Then a body shell, depending on which you choose you may find you want to chop/modify the shock towers to get the body to sit low. You'll need a body post kit also.

By the time you have done all that you will have a truggy, that won't be as good as a LSP or X1CRT. These have longer arms & longer wheel base etc, so will always handle a bit better.

I modded my MP7.5 because I wanted a truggy, and my car was all blinged up & I knew I wouldn't get enough for it to want to sell it. Also I fancied a little project to work on. I also found a way to extend the wheel base by 1", but that is a bit tricky!

Hope this helps you to make the right decission.

Tim.

Your best bet in creating a truggy is to get arms that are extended not the adapters. They are not stable enough. I drove a MP 7.5 and than the same rig but with the Native racing truggy kit and it drove like night and day. Turning seemed more smooth and easier control . IMO
