Well, I've finally made it into the 1/8 buggy scene. I've been debating over which buggy to buy and I started out thinking Ofna was the way to go. Its on the cheaper side of things, great support from my LHS, decent motor. Then I was thinking "lets go midrange" and was looking for a Lightning Pro but it was hard as hell to find parts available anywhere. Finally I started going through all the posts here and asking friends and wondering if I should just bite the bullet a little bit up front and get something that I'm pretty sure I would not get tired of and want to upgrade. I settled on either the Storm Pro or the Inferno. I spoke to my LHS owner and he runs nothing but Infernos himself. Hes won a ton of races back in the day with his buggies.

Well, yesterday I went strolling through the shop and found that he has a 7.5 box sitting on the shelf. He apparently ordered it for someone and they backed out. So he sold it to me at cost.

But I have a question.....I was thinking about breaking it in outside the house and wanted to put a set of worn out tires on the buggy for now. No use is wearing out a set of brand new tires. But I found that the wheels i have dont fit the Inferno at all. I have tons of old 2.2 truck tires but none of my old wheels fit. Anyone know where I can get 2.2 wheels that will fit on the Kyosho???

I'm hoping to break this bad boy in this weekend and post some pics.

Dont know about the wheels....

But hey! CONGRATS! on owning one of the best buggies in the world! You will love every minute of it!

What mill is in it?

The LHS guy gave me a GX .21 (I think thats the Kyosho brand enigne). I'm running it with the JR XS3 radio and servos.

I dont know how good the engine is but I figure I can always upgrade later.

Congrats!!! nice pick........peepee. Anyways 2.2 tires do not fit the 17mm buggy hub nuts and I don't know of anyone making a set of adapters. I say run the new ones and just be real light on them, shoot your breaking it in so don't kill it. You can break it in on packed dirts just make sure your not spinning the wheels to much and letting that new engine get into those higher RPM ranges until after about 6 tanks.:buggy1:

Dangit! I know someone makes the adapters. Unless it was to mount TMaxx tires on the Buggies. Ill find them.

:hamster:

Congrats on the Kyosho. I myself am in the market looking for a new body. Possibly a K2 or the MBX5. I want to try my hand at racing.

Or you can use the Pro-Line Road Rage tires part# 9012-00. They have a tire that fits buggies.

Since I dont see myself getting into racing right now...(2 hour drive to the only off road race track) I'm prolly going to turn it into a Truggy.

Does anyone know how good the MP 7.5 sports is?
I've heard good /bad, but I want to know the real story. :buggy1:

I've heard very good things about the sport. Granted, as with ANY RTR there will be a couple of upgrades you want to do out of the box, but, being it is a Kyosho buggy, it can't be much.

I'd rather have the Sports w/o the radio 'cause I would be ripping it out anyway and getting a 645MG for steering.

Well, I finally had a chance to get the buggy out today. Went over to the local university (Kean Univ) Nice Huge Long Flat Empty parking lots. I adjusted my throttle trim and servo linkage so that no matter what I couldnt open her up past 1/4.

Was a "female dog" to get running. Damn thing would start for the .005 second that the pull cord was being pulled but would shut own as soon as I started letting some of it back in. GRRRRRR:flaming: Played with the idle screw and over primed it and it finally came to life.

Ran through 2 tanks just cruisin at 1/4 throttle with the occasional burst just to clear it out. Bogged down a little at first but evened out nicely. By the third tank it started right up with a little open throttle and I headed for the grass. I'm definitly going to have to change out the springs and/or shock oil. She was bouncing around pretty bad. What do you guys suggest to smooth things out a bit.

Well tomorrow I'm off to the lake (Spruce Run) so I'm sure I'll get a few more tanks run through while I'm there....I can't wait to open her up and see how fast she runs.

Let us know how that engine runs. I've had no problems with a GS11x years ago in a SuperTen. I'm thinking I'll end up with the 7.5 sport and it has the GX .21, so I'm really interested in your experience with it.
Go :redbuggy: Go!

Once I get a few more tanks through it I'll start beatin on her and let ya know. First victim (race wise) is going to be a buddys T-Maxx.

Sweet. Can't wait to hear the results.
So this is your buggy.
