Anybody fly a ram-air kite? I have 3 dual line stunt kites with my favorite being a Quantum Prism. I saw a guy flying a Flexifoil Bullet and have decided to add one to my stable.

Flexifoil Bullet

I am starting with the 1.5.

right when u get it......

I dont have one I have a Parafoil (like a small bullet), but a guy at a park down the road from here has one close to a 4.5. He has a big Tricycle he sits in and gets pulled around in, a site to see.

I was heavy into kites a few years ago. I still have my whole stable but most would consider them a bit outdated. Cobrakites Scorpion. HQ Jam Sesson White Rainbow. Flexifoil Psycho. Dean Jordan Star Watcher and Spec. Prism Micron. And a few generics. Never did the foils. Had seen and flown a few Sky tigers and such. They are hella powerful. You'll lose most of the freestyle but pick up tons of power. If you're going to use them on your own two feet, be prepared to be manhandled. I've had smaller kites drag my ass across a whole soccer field before I could manage to stop the damn thing.

I have a piysm and a pyro. I just got into it last year. Its a great sport. Having a park across the street I find myself out flying in the evenings.

There is a club of sorts that meets in Bodega on Fridays after work at the beach. I have got some great help from the people who fly there. They are a great group and will let you fly what they bring. I have seen many foils there.

Contact the owner of Kites and Candy (or is it Candy and Kites? Do a google on it.) in Bodega bay and he will fill you in. He is the local go to guy.

i saw a guy surfing on a arch shapped one saturday.. i dont know what there called but it looked fun as hell

I watched a guy using a 2.5 and he was being pulled around pretty good. He even did some bunny hopping which was cool. He was using handles and showed me what to do if you get into trouble. You just let go of the handles and the wrist straps will engage the brakes which causes the kit to drift down easily to the ground. I got the 1.5 with handles and it does not have as much lift as the 2.5 but I expect to get pulled around. It is going to be a blast.

I am off to the beach this weekend to play.

Ed, I will be at Doran Beach in Bodega Bay either Sat or Sun. If you want to come out on either day, let me know and that will be the day I go. I will have the kids and wife in tow if that matters.
