I'm looking to get my daughter a truck of her own to go out and bash with me, i dont want to spend a ton of money, but i want a half way decent quality R/C, anyone have any ideas or any for sale?

it doesn't have to be huge or in perfect shape just something for a 7 year old to have some fun with..

most likely want an electric, but dont want any radio shack junk.

We usually go to the rock quarry but we also play in the dirt and grass, or on the football field at the school by the house.

i've never owned a 'pede but I've heard they make a great intro truck. my 7 yr old love my slash. we run it on the driveway, parking lot and baseball infield...its too low for grass riding. with the exception of him hitting the light pole its held up nicely for him.

Well this is what i Bought for my daughter as her first RC, i know they havent released alot of extras/parts for them yet but this is what i though would suit her for now until she gets the hang of driving them. I hope she like it....What do you guys think???

Yeah, this truck looks awesome!! Give us more info on how it runs etc. when you try it out more. Its a great price for what you get. I am thinking of getting one of these for my son.

i watched several videos on it, and it seems to handle pretty much what can be thrown at it, it was 107 shipped so i think it will be OK, i will update when she gets it.

I dont think that you could find a better deal than that!!! I watched some vids on it too. Its HPI so you know you are getting a high quality product since they are one of the best names in the business. I paid 120 taxes in for my sons Losi Highroller. The Recon is more than twice the size, and probably three times more durable and like you say, it can handle almost anything thrown at it.

Keep us posted. I was lookin at it as well and was curious about durability. HPI so I imagine it will hold up fine but the cheap pricetag scares me a little as the old addage "you get what you pay for" comes into play

This is very true. I am only ASSUMING that it will be durable only because of the manufaturer. But it is so close to the price of Toys r us brands that I am curious too. Looking at the "unboxing" vids on youtube and looking at other pics though it looks really promising.

yeah, i looked at other off name trucks in 1/10th scale for a little more money, but if its gonna have problems then i know hpi will stand behind it with their service dept......i was planning on giving it to her for christmas.....but it get so cold up here i may give it to her early.....mainly because i dont think i can wait a month.....lol......i will shoot some vids and keep you guys posted.

Personally, I wouldn't go off the beaten path when it comes to rc brands. We pay WAY too much for our RCs to have no customer service or parts availablity. Like you say, HPI will back their products like any other big name brand.
