keeping fuel fresh

yes, that would probably work. Assuming that the nitro or methanol didn't attack the plastic. Although, some of those darkroom chemicals are pretty corrosive.
I have wondered if keeping fuel in the refrigerator would help it stay fresh. Of course, it would have to be a fridge that isn't used for food.
Of course, "burn it before it goes bad" is a good motto to live by!

Loos like a good idea. i keep mine in a colapsable fuel bottle that's designed along the same lines, and it seems to be fresher longer. Anyone know the shelf life of the regular 20% mixture?

Thanks for the reminder! I have a few of those collapseable jugs from my darkroom days! That would work just fine. Dark to keep the sunlight out. It can be pushed down to reduce air. It is corrosive resistant ... It held my developing fluid and stop bath fresh and never leaked (B&W). That would be perfect ... I'm gonna go get some more just for the fuel.

Actually I would like to know if keeping Nitro fuel refrigerated helps
extend the life ? Anybody know ?

it says store in a cool, dark place. I would think it would. but my wife won't let me store it with the food! Trinity Monster HP 20% looks too much like grape juice.

Do that and the wife will put you out and you'll be in a cool dark place ... by yourself! lol

You'll be holding the fuel and both of you will be in storage till the next nitro run.

I've never had any probs with keeping my fuel fresh, and I just leave it in its normal jug, with the red plug then cap, and put it in the basement on a desk. If you have problems with keeping your fuel fresh or asking how long it will remain fresh, your not burning enough nitro. Or not burning it fast enough. get out and bash dammit!!

i have heard that a sealed bottle of nitro will last years. as long as it doesn't obsorb any water, you're ok.

A gallon of fuel never last me more than a week or two anyway so it never gets a chance to go bad. I just leave it in the jug and suck it out a bottle at a time.

if your thinking about keeping it in a fridge ,i would not advise that at all
think about it its in the cold you take it out and even thoe its sealed it will get condensation inside reguardless if its sealed or not
keeping it cool and in a dry spot is good for it but keep it off the concrete floor
and like 4u2nv said .use it up lol

Ummm.... mines in the trunk of my car in the gallon bottle I bought it in. It's been in there for about 3 weeks. Still burns just fine.

I got tired of carrying it up and down the stairs, so I made a permanent spot in my trunk for it. Been storing it there all summer and haven't had any problems. My last gallon lasted me a month as well and never changed color or burned any different from the first to last tank that I noticed.

I've been on the same gallon of Plane fuel for two years and it still works like the day I got it. Not sure if thats the same as ground rc nitro or not, but all my nitro before I open the jug, I shake it. (dunno if that helps. but it sounds like a coke when I open it)
