This was my first attempt at a carbon fiber paint job. Not the best, but I'll keep it.
I'm trying to figure out a design for the rest of the body.
Any suggestions?

Thats pretty cool man!

You know dude, I like you.
You never have a bad thing to say to me.
I think I could take a crap on an R/C car, and you would tell me you like it.
Just kidding.
Thanks for the props.

hahahaha Actually I'm kissing your ass because when your done with your K3 your sending it to me right? But seriously I've tried painting and its f...ing hard.

very nice rob, I'll be starting some of my own carbon fibre tonight.

Brandon

Well look at you with the carbon fiber.... lol Impressive for your first try...
You mean I wasted my time looking for an article on the "Lightning Effect" ??
Dammit... :nope: Thats 5 minutes I'll never get back.... lol

Lookin good Ratzo... I would say go with a flourescent green spike design, into a gun metal grey; with some shading of course ... Just my opinion...

I'm all about silver and flour. green! Orange is good with the carbon fibre look though.

This is the closest thing I could find to the orange. The green idea is in my head. :D

I'll make sure to take pics of my progress for ya. I'm doing it all with rattle cans this time around. I don't think I'll make the air brush investment for awhile still.

Nice CF job. How did you get the Torn Look?

I blew it!!!
I have to strip it and do it again!
I was tired and not thinking (stoned on paint vapors).
Painted some place that wasn't masked, spilled paint in the body, then accidently put my hand into the wet paint.
New pics tonight on how to strip a body..LOL

OK, that's gotta be the saddest painting story I've heard. And you were off to such a good start. The CF looks good. No, it's not easy. Especially when you have to try to do the effect over complex curves. But it came out great. I can't wait to see the end result.

VW Body

Hey Candyman, speaking of bodies, where did you pick up the VW bug body that you have on your monster truck? I saw it in someones gallery, I think MCVICKJ.

Thanks,

Mr T

That bug body is a 200mm HPI Beetle Cup Racer. It's supposed to be a touring car body, but I cut it to fit my T-Maxx chassis....

The car looks too good to cover up with a body.
Looking real good so far. I need to know how you achieved the subtle striped look on the main part of the body. It must have taken a lot of masking.
