k5.9 Engine

My Savage x 4.6 engine is almost finished and i was looking to buy the 5.9 from the xl. I know the 5.9 is a direct drop in but how bout the Engine mount. Can i use my old one or do i needa new one for it? Also if i get the k5.9 do i need the 3 spede tranny or cna i use my 2 speed still?

you dont need anything at all. it will work with a 2 speed perfectly but in order to get the full potential i would eventually get the 3 speed.

Just a quick question... What do u guys do with all ur old engines after there life is gone? Like i know u can get it re pinched but how would that be done
Also would u guys buy it off ebay or the engine exchange thing. i looked and its still expensive...

well i would get mine repinched and sealed. then get a new cooler head. then get it tuned to PERFECTION. and then sell it. as for the new 5.9 defiantly ebay.

Two out of the 3 engine seem to be holding up really well. The third hasn't been installed in anything yet.

I'm guessing there about 97% full peformance

Pretty much full performance after a short break-in period. Just make sure you tear the engine down and check the con-rod for wear (slop on the mounting points) and seal the carb/backplate up with RTV as you put it back together.
