Hey everybody it's been a while since I last visited the forum. I'm having a problem with the K4.6 that I have in my Savage X. The mid range needle keeps backing out. This is the second one I have lost can anyone tell me if they have had the same problem and if there is a fix for it? This is really annoying. I replaced it once about a month or so ago and then today it fell out again.

From what I've been hearing, is once you get the mid range tuned, put gasket seal or something over it so it can't move any more.

Loctite? I figured the nitro fuel would render that stuff ineffective. I will give it a try as soon as I get another needle ordered. In fact I may combine both methods. Loctite on the threads and then the gasket sealer once I get the needle set.

Just let the locktite set up before putting fuel to the carb. Hell, I had to locktite the needles on a 2.5r once. They were rattling all over the place. The locktite worked great, even after multiple adjustments. I don't think it would hurt a thing to rtv the o-ring as well.
