I keep on hearing that there are 2 different engines for the Savage X 4.6 one is a F4.6 and one is a K4.6 how do I know wich one I have?? Is one better than the other?

ONE is from the SAVAGE X SS AND THE OTHER IS FROM THE RTR. If you have the SS its a k4.6 if you have the RTR its the f4.6.. Nah no difference in power or speed or anything.
The heads are different on them tho. But really makes no difference.

Dunno, its g** i think they might have done it cuz of the Different heads thats all. Only my guess.

also, to be noted the rotostart shaft on the Force series is a 12mm hex, whereas the K series is an 11mm, both are not compatible with eachother.

The F 4.6 is a different bore/stroke than the K4.6. Carbs are different. Two totally different engines. Performance is really similar though.

Actually the bore and stroke are the same...well F4.6 Bore 18.68mm Stroke 16.6mm K4.6 Bore 18.6mm Stroke 16.9mm. It's the carbs that are different the F4.6 has a 7.5mm carb and the K4.6 has a 8.5mm carb. Thats it. Same displacement and same horsepower.
