i finally got my xxx-nt...it kicks a$$...one problem...after driving it around on the road all day trying to get used to the stadium truck feel, i tried to crank it again and the pull start like doesn't grab and it wont turn the motor...and when it does it only turns the motor like once or twice...which isnt enought to start...

is there any way i can fix it...(i have enough money to buy a new one but id rather try to fix my current one).

please help...thanks

Sounds like your pullstart and one way are gummed up with oil. Take off the pull start and clean the assembly with DA or nitro clean and try in again.

easy fix try getting it warm first and see if that helps..
if not, squirt some wd-40 or something similar in the pull start hole

if that really doesn't work another member will tell you how to get the pull start off

Sounds like your one-way bearing in the pullstart is slipping. What you have to do is to remove the pullstart. Then remove the one-way bearing. Soak it for a few minutes in nitro cleaner or denatured alcohol. Then dry it off thoroughly. When that's done, put a few drops of 3-in-1 oil on the bearing then reinstall it. Should work fine then.

wow that help came quick...ok i got it apart and it looks like the spring thing is about to jump out and kill me...what do i do...and where is the "bearing"?

OK, first, be very gentle with the pullstart. DO NOT let the spring unwind or you'll be there the rest of the week trying to get it back in. Put a rubber band around it so the spool doesn't pop out!
The one way should be a hex-shaped bearing that sits on the shaft that comes out the back of the engine. If not, then there should be a piece that looks like a bolt with no threads that pulls out of the back plate. Let us know which you have.

OK, got the info I was looking for. To get to the one-way, you have to also remove the back plate. Take out the 4 screws and the back plate will come off. The one-way is the bearing that sits embedded in the backplate. It just falls out. Here's a pic...

You'll see the one-way is the last part in the chain. Once you have it out, just clean it and re-oil it and it should be fine.

Just make sure you put the one way bearing back in, the same way it came out. While it's out, also clean the shaft with alcohol.

ok...that helped me alot, thanks...i have the hex shaped pull start...now time to follow your instructions and hope for the best!

thanks again

My experience with the Mach .15 is that until the fuel makes it's way to the engine, there is very little resistance to the pull start and feels exactly like a misfunctioning one way bearing. I know you have already disassembled, but in the future, prime the engine (hold finger over exhaust tip) and you should feel the resistance grow. I always make the claim I can start my Losi in one pull, couple of yanks to get the resistance, add glow plug warmer and more often than not......One pull start.

thats what i thought it was at 1st...but after i cleaned it, it worked like new...thank you guys so much, you saved me $20!!!

Do not use a drill with a socket on it to spin a hex one-way bearing, it cracks them and then they are useless. My friend broke two of em that way.

we must have esp or something, b/c i was just thinking about doing that yesterday!!!

thanks for the info...now i wont do it.
