I was at my LHS this morning and they offered to me for $429 since the new one is coming out. I said heck yes I'll take it! I am a casual clay track driver, so I have no need for the new B84 @$620. I am looking forward to this build!

You'll love it! For an average joe fun club racer no need to have the latest and greatest model and tech. I still get mid A main positions with my 74.1 in normal club racing.
I have a Hobbywing XR10 Pro in my bin that I plan on putting in it. I also have a spare Reedy Sonic 8.5t motor, but I am contemplating getting a 13.5t to start with. Any thoughts there?

If your track does 13.5 class it would be best to get 13.5. Imo 13.5 is plenty power for a 4wd but if you got an 8.5 and wanna save money it is do-able, if your track allows both mod and stock at the same time which mine does for normal club racing, just make sure you have a fan for that motor. XR10 Pro can handle both 8.5 and 13.5 just fine.

I have a 17.5 in my 22 5.0. Perfect on carpet. Could be perfect at my clay track if i up the gearing and timing to where it doesn't overheat and to clear the jumps. Half of that is due to my tires I believe so maybe i could just be wrong here lol. Just got home from a track day you can see my stats in my race blog thread later tonight. ;)

The guy I bought my B6.3 from was running a 17.5 and cut it back to 21.5. He likes it better set up that way.

I would build this car with weight savings in mind. Use ceramic bearings and make it roll ultra smooth... the car will be great! 😎
