Does anyone know if the Five Star 5501 charger is suppose to stop charging once the timer is done or not?

Hmm. If it is in trickle charge mode, can it still overcharge a battery? I read online it's suppose to keep the battery charge even.

Well I have a charger I bought really cheap on ebay and I assumed it would go into trickle mode like my others, but when I woke up I had a battery pack about ready to melt. I learned a valuable lesson, just glad I didn't catch the house on fire.

Yeah. But remember that it means it'll just charge it slower.

Timed chargers are an easy way to ruin all of your packs. Get yourself a charger that has a cut-off! It may be a little more money now, but if you add up the packs you will ruin, it is soooo worth it!

I know, I thought the one I had was a cut-off, I was wrong. I'll check if I can return it to the LHS and exchange for a new one.

My Charger trickles for 50 minutes after the fast charge. One it's done with the trickle charge, it goes into sleep mode, so I don't need to worry about overcharging.

Prophet sport chargers work good and have amp choices to charge at, also have the connectors for your cars battery as well as the house plug...

Good charger, I think it runs about $35
