Boo-Ya Grandma, I just got the NTC3 kit. I haven't told the war department yet, but I will eventually. Unfortunately, I don't have any time to put it together, and doesn't look like I will get time in the next 2 weeks as we are getting ready to move.

My first(very limited) impressions are: What great instructions!! I can't imagine instructions getting much better. I don't expect too much difficulty building this thing.

On a side note, I got the side exhaust pull start version. I may convert later. I am probably going to put a 03Fantom .12 in it for starters. (I will probably get the non PS version) I can always get new engine mounts if the non PS ones are too tall. I think this thing will rock!! I am looking forward to driving and hopefully racing it.

When you screw in screws for the first time. Use a vice grip on the screw and screw it in without attaching the part. This will give your forearm a little break. Trust me. Oh yeah, get some better allen driver thingies. The ones with the kit sucks. Get some craftsman or some poop.

Then once everything is together, lets race!

Deal...Let me know if you find any good offroad bash spots in the South End.

Did you see the post in the track finder section? There's a bmw track that we can use...it's in sumner

:OT: but it's my thread. Have you been to the bmx track there? Is it sweet? It would be a bit of a drive for me, but worth it if was a cool place to bash.

I'll probably go there this weekend to check it out. Maybe run a little. Looking at the pictures it looks pretty good. Wish the jumps were a little higher. It'll be hard to see the truck when it's far away though :(. Maybe if it's really good we could see about making a ghetto driver's stand with the owner's permission...some poop

Yeah, it'd be a bit of a drive for you. But hey driving is fun!

Here's a link to that bmx site.

From the schedule they have posted it looks like our best bet would be a Sunday Evening or a Monday. I figure if we show up with a cooler of soda pop, we might be able to buy some kids off the track with that, which includes of course, the opportunity to watch some nitro fun. The proprietor said "It's fine as long as no bmx'ers are on the track".

Sorry, NitroDave... This thread DID get kinda hijacked.

Congratulations on the new wheels. (I won't say anything to the wife.)

Congrats on the new aquisition! Great kit isnt it!?!?!

Be careful with the vice-grips, they can cause you to get a screw a little crooked. Just take it slow if you do. Good drivers are irreplaceable.

Congrats again man!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are going to really enjoy building the kit. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT use the allen wrenches included with the kit. Use a set of alen drivers. the ones in the kit will strip the small bolts. Also, I recommend using more threadlock than humanly possible on all the metal/metal parts, and some CA on the metal /plastic parts. I noticed that if u screw in the bolts too tight into the plastic parts, they tend to strip the threads and come loose.

Thanks for the tips, I would never dream of using the allen drivers that came with the kit. I am just not that much of a glutton for punishment. The CA tip is a good one, I'll remember that.

If I use CA on the plastic/metal connections, how tough is it to break the screws loose to take them out?

Piece of cake with a good allen driver - impossible with a crappy allen wrench.

That was the one downfall of the kit i noticed, and it is most appearant in the diff housing screws. if u tighten them down nice and hard, all of a sudden u break loose, and then just sit there and spin. the ca stops this from happening.

the only thing for mine is that my diff housing have broken, both front and back, my dumb butt tighten the stuff down too much. plus, i went straight into a curv when i lost my batteries, but parts are really easy to find for Team Associated , it is a great kit you will love it.

did?????

hello i just got a brand new Nitro TC3 out of the box but i am havin hard time startin it?? u got any clues or help??

Mine is an RTR i had trouble starting mine too. But what i did was lean out my idle, then once i got it going it put it back at the original spot!

*!CAUTION!*
You MUST have a good grip on your car if doing this. Your car will take off like a rocket if you do not!!!

nah, I have had mine since Oct. of last year. and about x-mas time i switched mine over to bump start. It is so much faster, a couple of seconds on that thing, VROOMM it starts right up, and I am able to tweek it som much easier now too!

Is the WAR DEPARTMENT a fancy term for your wife??? If not I think I might use that term if I ever get married again when referring to my wife. Good luck on your project.
