Build Thread JTORC turns a pile of crap into a crawler!

All of the printing for this truck was done on my Elegoo Centauri Carbon Core XY printer. It's my only printer after replacing my CR-10. I do not have any resin printers. Too messy for me. The Centauri is an amazing printer. Just needs some minor tweaking and tuning and it's golden.

I went back to re-listen for the hee haw and was not disappointed...that is freakin hilarious. 🤣
I was just looking at that printer. May be a little out of my budget, but I'll be looking again during black Friday. I really want a resin printer first, since my CR10 is back up and running. But you're right. It's putting out some sweet looking prints.

This build is one of the best crawler builds I've seen! Keep it up!
Man thank you! huge compliment for sure. Especially considering it was literally a pile of junk which got the build started lol.

I think I've finally gotten used to my new 3D printer and have it tuned quite well. Since I now have a running, driving, crawling truck, I want to go back and re-print the skid plate in PETG. I also need to move some of the holes around just a smidge because I'm currently only running 2 screws holding the trans to the skid.

I'm also going to be taking it out to my usual crawl spot soon (later this week weather permitting). I'm very excited to see how it does out there.

Acquired the black PETG so I can start re-working the skid.

...and started printing another project instead of working on this. Oops.

Regardless of the skid, we'll definitely get some rock time in this week. The rain has cleared out and there is absolutely beautiful fall weather now (for a few days at least).

Any updates?
Nothing too exciting unfortunately. I re-did the skid and slapped that on it. Work has been keeping me bound to my office all day and life is exceptionally busy sucking up all my free time these days so I still have not yet taken it out on the rocks. It's in the back of my mind every damn day. 🙃

I could drive it for you. 😁

A performance mod! Finally got around to replacing the placeholder shocks. Installed some Amazon 100mm dlux knockoffs. The suspension articulated a whole lot smoother now. I removed the 3d printed bed because a buddy was going to be driving it…I kinda love it without the bed lol.

So about the buddy driving it…I was supposed to go crawling with some buddies this morning but we woke up to snow. 😑

Next up, I’m going to chop the body a little bit to get it sitting lower and more straight on the skids. I also want to do some wheels and tires soon because I know the tires I have on it aren’t going to be great on the rocks.
