It took a long time for me to finally decide I wanted to add a Rlaarlo to the fleet. I have tried my share of these fine China brands, and only a few have not been a total let down. When the roller for this rally car went on sale, I asked Santa to put one on will-call for me.
I am still finishing up the paint, waiting on a servo mount, and brushing up on my radiomaster mt12 functions.
Stay tuned.

Nice man! Diggin the US General’s too! 🤩

My initial once over on this car has me impressed although I do notice some monkey metal hinge pin blocks. The plastic parts seem robust enough for a car of this size. The shocks feel great and after some adjustments made to the droop screws, springs, and mount locations; I am happy with how it sits RTR.
The green anodizing is a color that can only be produced by a bronchial infection.
The lexan body is decently thick, a lot thicker than anything proline offers. The lights on this thing are impressive; they will be the first items to break.

Nice!! What are your initial thoughts on the quality of the setup?
It looks like a solid car, I look forward to crash testing this dummy.

Done with the paint job. I’m very happy with the colors, I’m so-so on the layout and design.
Reinforcement around the weak taillight areas.

I don't know if it's right or wrong, that's just how I do it.

Here’s another photo of how I reinforced what I would consider some potentially fragile areas. I used a light layer of e6000 over the drywall tape.
Some shoe goo/ flex seal type pastes can have a reaction with the paint if it isn’t fully cured. Createx paint seems to dry very fast especially with light layers.

Kinda simple, just a few stripes.

Cmon usps!

I figured out the lights, that was simple. If you don't run the Rlaarlo electronics you have to get a separate light receiver, which is not what is pictured mounted to the roof of the body. That is the light controller. There are zero instructions on how to wire up the receiver - I found a YT video. I programmed a switch on my MT12 to control the lights. I defeated the retarded turn signals by plugging the servo directly into the flysky rx. The esc passes through the light rx so it picks up signals for reverse, brake, and backfire lighting.
Now I can't seem to figure out how to tame the gyro. I am using a flysky FS-BS6 which has a built-in gyro. I want to be able to use a pot on my MT12 to turn the gyro up or down.
Feel free to drop some knowledge if you know how to mess with the gyro.

This car chits n gits. 🤩🍻
I am running a Holmes Hobbies 3500kV puller pro - it wasn't being used so why not?
Furitek 150a Dominator - Hobbywing MaxSCT -
RCjuice 4100mah 3sHV - it took very little time to drain this battery, I think the HH motor is more like a 40 can with its fuel consumption 😅

Looks great, nice work.

I have been running the crap outta this car, it’s a straight up performer. It could be the funnest car I have.
I changed shock fluids to 40/37wt F/R to slow down the shocks and changed mounting positions to stiffen them up - perfect. The body doesn’t drag when giving it the onions and ride height is still fairly low. The lexan body is pretty thick and can take a beating.
The Hobbywing max10sct performs very well in this car with no heat issues, the motor is also running cooler - that furitek dominator was a piece of junk - which is really too bad.

I defeated the gyro by using channels 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2. On a flysky rx with a gyro, 1 & 2 are affected by the gyro and so far I have not figured out a way to adjust gyro gain.
-ok- story time is over now, bye.
