This radio is amazing. Still don't know much about it but the difference between the stock traxxas control and the XS3 is quite amazing......like the radio. Those of you that own it, what do you think?

One word....synthesized. No more having to deal with crystals. If you have a conflict with someone else just dial in a new channel and your good to go.

Probably the only downside to the XS3 is the cost of additional receivers. However I think it balances out in the end if this is the only radio you are using for all of your rides.

I absolutely love my XS3. It also feels much better than other remotes, IMHO.

how do you change channels?(on the xs3)what else do i need with it?

For the receiver you just use a tiny screw driver and adjust to the desired chanel.

For the transmitter you press and hold the first two buttons (scroll and channel) while turning it on. Then select the correct model entry and change the channel.

I love mine. Feels well balanced in my hand. Can't beat the synth. I currently have 4 models on it and am getting ready to add a fifth. Just make sure you have it set to the model you are currently getting ready to run before you start the engine. Settings can vary wildly between models.

I have the XR3i (crystals) and I love mine. I was going to upgrade to the XS3 (crystaless) until I saw that Namido radio that is coming out.

Yeah I've made the mistake of having the wrong model set in the radio when I started my buggy and it took off like a bat out of hell with the igniter still attached to it.

Definitly NOT a good look.

I think there are other radios out there that are a bit more balanced and fit my hands better but I love all the featuresof the XS3 and wouldnt trade it. Well... maybe for that new 2.4Ghz radio...

I liked my first JR XS3 so much I bought a second one for a screaming deal - used, of course.

I have two buggies and too many friends without rides so I needed the full set (TX and RX). Although I have to say, when the Namido that HB mentioned is finally released I think my JR's will fall to backup position ;)

I have a XS3 and it works wonders over he stock Am jobbies. I would sujest it to anyone.

Q: Should this be in the radio thread?

Dude my XS3 rocks so many advantages to just not having crystals when I go to the track now. Don't have to buy xtals at all. I actually don't have to wait to run. If you get it or another synth radio just make sure you get it in the 75mhz band 30 channels compared to four.
My LHS sells them for $209.
