So guys, Where do you think he goes, and do you think it will help him or hurt him? I think he goes to RCR, or ends up driving for his own team.

Tom

I can see him at Hendricks motor sports for a year or two...at least until they teach him how to win.

He won't go to Hendrick..... Hendrick already has 4 cars, and that is the impending limit set by NASCAR, this includes teams co-owned by other folks, Hendrick can't have more than 4 teams period. The only other Top Tier Chevy cup teams are Gibbs, and RCR, both winners, and both with a fourth spot to fill. If he goes to RCR... it will be the Bud #3, if he goes to Gibbs, he will be the Bud #03, or 08. I personally hope he goes to RCR... but I think it is a good move for him either way. He removes himself from the shadow, and it is a fresh start. It will be some time before we know where he is headed, but one things for sure... it is going to be interesting.

I really think it will e the #3 coming back and him driving daddy's old car. It was some speculation a long time ago and I think next year it will be fact.

I think if nostalgia gets the best of him we could see a #3 Budweiser. However, if he wants a championship I think gibbs may go to 4 cars.

Unfortunately I think we will all have to wait a while to find out the end of this story. I don't think we will know anything until the end of the season at the earliest. Kinda makes you wonder though. The more I think about it the more and more I really don't think he will end up driving the number 3 for RCR. I think Jr. wants to be his own man, and driving a number his father made famous is not the way to do it. I think he will go to a team that he can make his own mark. I just hope it is not with Hendrick. Now don't get me wrong.. I would love to see Jr, in the 3 next year, I just don't think that is what he wants. It is going to drive me crazy though.

Jr's going to Childress is my guess. Thats where is dad started and he's been a good friend of the family for 30yrs.

He would probably have more success

C'mon now my friend..... Jr. may not have 77 wins, and he may have not won a champinonship in cup, but he has 17 cup victories, including the Daytona 500, an Allstar race victory, as well as a few Twin Qualifier races. He has 2 Busch Series Titles (Back to back). I would hardly call him a slouch. Now his numbers have declined over the last two years, but I think moving to another top notch team will to wonders for his carrer. He has contented this year, and his finishes have not been that bad. Only time will tell. Besides to be a florist you have to know like a zillion types of flowers...... Personally I would rather mash the gas and turn left. LOL

Worst move would be to field his own cars. I guess they said Truex is going with him so I hope he doesn't try to run 2 cars under JR Motorsports. Although it might seem cool, there haven't been any decent owner/drivers recently (Robbie Gordon, Ricky Rudd, Kyle Petty).
So my votes go to either RCR and put him in a 4th car.
Or Hendrick boots Casey Mears (cuz he's doing just so well this year) and runs Jr in the 4th team.

Here we go with mark the moron again...The funny thing is if Jr would go to hendrick you would be all about him.

First off Markallen, Jr, can wheel a race car. Just as Gordon can, JJ, and anybody else racing in the Cup Series. Everyone of those drivers were winners before ever stepping into a cup car, so lets just drop the whole "he needs to learn how to drive" crap. Some drivers go their whole career without winning a race or even only winning a few. He has won 17 times in a little under 8 years not bad in my opinion.

I agree with Candyman... I personally think that driving for himself is out of the question. I think it would be a mistake, and I hope it would be a last resort type of decision. As much as I hope and pray he doesn't end up with Hendrick, it is a real possibility and frankly it sucks but it is what it is. I would love to see him at RCR... even if he doesn't drive the 3, I hope he end up driving for Richard. Gibbs would be my second choice, but as a long time Earnhardt fan... I would love to see him racing a 3 for RCR.
