JConcepts XB8 Body (TONS OF PICS! 56k probably not)

Heres the body I painted for the Xb8 I bought from Eddie. Its a JcConcepts "Illuzions body". I'm not real happy about the how you can see some of the stuff behind the white paint, but oh well. Other than that I dont think its to shabby for my 1st buggy body I painted. (NOT fun to trim these things!)

I did a step by step kinda thing so theres a TON of pics..lol..

All paint is Pactra, except the orange. Thats Spazstick Annodized orange back with Spaz Chrome.

GOSH darn thats a nice body. I wish i would have been able to bid on eddys buggy that thing is sweet. O well someday ill get me a buggy when budget's say it ok.

I like how the CF effect fades into the white checker.. that's looks cool :thumbup: I don't care for the checker sections at the side much.. just looks sort of out of place to me.. Love that orange! Phat color!

its kinda hard to see but theres a little vent type thing there, so I tried to make the checkers come out of there (on the sides and the top of sides.)

Yeah there pretty awesome. They dont go to far though huh? Just the rear of the buggy used like half a bottle.. Still not to bad considering a bottles like $4. Thanks for all the comments though guys. Very much appriciated!

yeah, I noticed that. Does that section dip into the body or raise out of it? Kinda hard to tell from pictures. I think I would have made the leading edge of the shadow a solid line and let it be soft trailing into the checker, But that's just me. At any rate it's a super phat body Andy.. 20x better than anything I've ever done. I'm currently working on one to sell.

Andy, does that orange look like that mostly due to the chrome backing? Did you spray the orange transluscent?

Yeah the orange is a Hard annodized paint that when you spray it out, its translucent. It looks like iodine. Yeah, then backed with chrome gave it the cool effect. I did some and backed it with color changing white to purple and it didnt do much..

Haha, theres like 5 bodies sitting next to me... I bought and tried Hard annodized: orange, deep red, and candy apple green and they look tight. I can't wait to spray them on actual bodies. The deep red is a little too purple to be called red imo, but ill try it on lexan instead of paper and see how it looks.
