jba factory settings are:-

hi, I've just fitted this engine in my tmaxx, and had problems tuning it! big problems!!! i emailed the manufacturers and the factory needle settings they recomended were as follows:- 1. High speed needle close full and back 1.5 circle or 2 circles.
2. low speed needle: open full, then the top of this needle close to 1mm to other needle.
3. the third needle is at: the middle of the hole of the carb. and 0.5mm back.
I hope this helps you out, as I'm not havin much luck with my engine, let me know if you get yours running good? good luck, Dave

Don't know if these are the right ones,But its what I've been told
H.S.N 5.5 tuns out from fully in
L.S.N 2.5 ,, ,,, ,,,,
Idle gap 1.5mm
Hope this helps

off to buy a decent engine now!!

my jba gave up today! a quarter gallon through it and I'm off to buy a decent engine now!! lol

i tottaly agree!

i should have put the cash toward a better engine, but which big block would you recomend for a traxxas tmaxx?

If you get a BIG BLOCK you'll need the engine mountings for it .$$$
I've ordered a Picco-P2.26 for my T-MAXX 4910,you get the engine mount with it and it takes the EZ start you just need a resonator exhaust then to get the best out of the Picco and losen your slipper clutch a little so you do't tear your Diff's and Tranny apart. .

picco sounds good!

I've heard and read a lot about the picco p2, sounds like a wise option, i bet it provides a massive performance increase over my traxxas trx 2.5 engine? and its a straight drop in for the tmaxx isnt it?

YA ! it's a drop in . . you'll have to get upgrade Diff's from a T-Maxx 4909 and steel CVD shafts F/C/R axles , Alloy BulkHeads as well
