I bought a Traxxas Jato 3.3 last week, I run off road so I need some good suggestions for good off road tires & wheels for this thing. The Anaconda tires that came with it suck on the dirt, its like driving on the ice, they don't work. I would like something with a real aggressive tread. I have some HPI Sand thrower tires on my Nitro Evaders, they work great where I run but I don't know if I can get a rim to fit these tires that will fit the Jato. Any suggestions with a link where I can order the tires would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I recommend Badlands or Mashers for dirt, Trenchers for all terrain. You can get them pre mounted or tires only. Any 2.8 tire with a traxxas style bead should fit your Jato wheels.

If you're looking for a sand paddle style tire like the Sand Throwers, try the Sand Paws

I have badlands on my jato. Awesome tire. Be aware not available preglued for frt on jato. Rears are available, but have to buy wheel and tire seperate for frt.

Or convert the front to 12mm hex, then you can rotate your tires.

How big a deal is that?

I don't think it was too hard, I had planned on doing it a while ago and never got around to it. My Jato sat in pieces for over a year until the other day and now it has aluminum on all of the corners, so now I doubt I'll be doing it anytime soon. Unless some on here has a "how to", you should be able to find it on Google like I did.

The Mashers work great!! I went out Saturday and put the 28 Mashers on it, which are a little bigger than the stock Anacondas, which give it a taller gear ratio which works good. I was getting a top sped of 68 mph according to the telemetry radio. After the tire change and adjusting the shift point so it hangs on to first gear a bit longer I got a top speed of 75 mph. I can't beleve how fast these Jatos are!

I put the new gladiator 2.8s by proline on my jato I also have a set of badlands. I find the gladiators to be great for dirt and they are low profile like the anacondas. The badlands are good too if you want to add a little ground clearance and great for off road but with the speed capabilities I find the gladiators to be the better choice because the car just performs better with the lower center of gravity. It likes to flip a lot with the badlands. Anyways just my opinion and good luck.
