So I bought a jato from someone, just have a few questions.

overall it fires up and runs good, but I'm not quite satisfied with how it handles.

1.
I've heard that as a rule, jato brakes suck. What can I do to tighten them up some, so braking is much more noticeable?

2.
Also I don't really think it turns as sharply as I would like. If it is going more than a crawl, the turning radius is probably 15 feet, increasing with speed. The previous owner mentioned that he used it for racing, so he wanted it to turn less sharply? would it seem like a sign that the servo's are shot? my LHS said thats what it was right away, and said that they WILL NOT let me return a servo if I pop one in and it isn't the issue.

3.
It also would seem to only have one gear, which seems to be a racing thing from what I've read. Is there a nice picture guide somewhere detailing how to swap them out? I think I have all the gears to swap it back.

4.
Earlier I bumped a curb doing around 15 I would guess, and popped the hexagonal plastic piece that screws to the wheel and then to the vehicle. I can't find a picture of one on google, I might upload a pic later. Anyone know where to find one?

5.
lastly, he gave me a set of aluminum beadlock wheels with it, but said they need a conversion thing to attach them to the car, which he just never got around to buying. any idea what he would be referring to? The rims look quite similar to these: http://www.rcmodelex.com/fotky4981/fotos/_vyr_175kja.jpg

Kinda a wall of text, hope I made enough sense. Thanks in advance for any advice.

1. replace the spring on the pull rod with a small piece of fuel line

2. lowering your front end and/or adjusting your tow will help

3. on the traxxas website under support you can find exploded views

4. refer to 3 for part #, local hobby shop or Ebay

to fix the breaks go to hot-racing and get sjt39ds. just be sure you really tighten the set screw that goes in the shaft, and some blue Loctite on the screw, just a little. on my t-max and jato i found that locking the diff worked good. but needs a little more power to turn . allso you run the idle rpm a little higher to get a stable idle, so long as it doesn't roll

i have been running my jato on pavement. with fome tires. and lowered and stiff suspension. if you do that, do not hit bumps or cracks under power. it will break the transmission.
