so i got out the old jato and was doing my pre run tuning one one of my high speed passes well to be honest I'm not sure what happened but i lost signal or something went under the car and well ruined my day lol riped off my reciver wire and bent my head fins form what i could see. put a new reciver in it and it fired up since then i have had a rough time tuning well come to find out i snaped off the mounting fin on the motor to the motor mount i now have a big ass split in my crank case my question is can a 2.5 crank case be use with a 3.3 piston and sleeve or do i need a new 3.3 crank case only reason i ask is i have a few junk trucks i could rob one from any help would be cool and save me some work lol

well first off no it does not work lol but it doesn't matter i guess it was a harder blow than i thought cracked my case and shattered my pistoon skirt on one side. ill just get a new motor lol

I know they are different part numbers between the 2.5, 2.5R and 3.3. I did (am currently) using a 2.5 crank case with a 2.5R piston/sleeve/crank and didn't really notice any issues. I'm pretty sure the 3.3 is bored different though and isn't interchangeable.

I've busted 4 crank cases in my jato (3 2.5 crankcases and 1 18TM crank case)... all of which from non-head impacts. All from slapping the chassis too hard on the ground from big air.
