Ordered the Jato 3.3 from Tower Hobbies. Wondering what upgrades i should do right off the bat. I've heard the dual brakes, and RPM all around. What else should i do?

If it's you first car, take it easy and get familiar with the speed. What are your plans for it, on road, off road, jumping?

If you're going to be racing, I think you'll have to do the single speed conversion. I'm not 100% and it will depend on how serious the racing is, just you and a few buddies it's not a big deal but if you're trying to get into actual competition you may have to. First thing is going to be tires, the Anacondas don't get any traction off road. For grass, I recommend Proline Badlands, for a general AT tire, look at either the Dirt Hawgs or Trenchers. Those tires aren't some that you would really want for real racing, more general off road, I'm not too familiar with the actual racing tires and those will really depend on the surface you are on. If you go to bigger tires, you will want to look into gearing it down a little (smaller clutchbell or larger spur). It's always good to have a few spare parts on hand especially a glow plug, a set of slipper pads and a spur gear, these are almost guaranteed to need to be replaced if this is your first Nitro (learning curve). When you get it throw some pictures up, we all like new rigs. I haven't tried the dual brake setup on my Jato but one thing to remember is that it's a 2wd stadium truck doing 50+ mph, it's going to take some time to stop. Even if you have awesome brakes, you're limited to the traction of the rear tires.

Oh yea, ditch the spring on the brake linkage and replace it with some fuel line.
