Jack Tramiel obituary | Technology | The Guardian

if you know commodore computers you know Jack Tramiel. he said ill build computers for the masses NOT the classes. i have a ton of commodore stuff. i have 200-300 commodore magazines. look up commodoreusa.net they have a NEW commodore computer.

I had a C64 way back when with all the bells and whistles including a 300 baud direct connect modem (wow). I also liked playing games on the Jackintosh (the Commodore Amiga). Everyone online here can thank him because he made the personal computer more affordable for everyone.

I had a C64 when I was about 8, got it for Christmas that year, with a cassette tape drive no less. That's where my love of technology, and ultimately, my career started. Thanks Jack, RIP my friend.

ill bet you didnt know that apple and apple 2cs got there cpu from commodore, ie MOS, a 6502, $25. a 8088 was $110

I skipped the 8088 and 8086 and got a 286, then a 386, a 486 then 486 dx2 and had a dx4 also.. oh the good ol days.. I miss BBSing.

i think that when RS first started in to computers, they sold most all of the computer brands that was sold. but in 1-2 years went to just tandy computers.

Then they went IBM after Tandy. Sold a lot of Tandy 1000's of all types.
