I got offered a transfer and promotion last week to move to our sister paper in Honolulu. I thought about it all weekend, and decided to take the job. I lived in Hawaii for almost 5 years before, and everyday since, I have wanted to return. Now that I have the opportunity, I am not passing it up. The guy I am replacing isnt leaving until February of next year, but I will be moving down sometime in the middle of January. I plan on having a blast in Buffalo, as that will be the last of my fun money, as I will need to save up about 5000 bucks for the move. Wish me luck guys!

Watch out hot chicks! The man is on the prowl!!!!!!

A buddy of mine used to paint the line on the runway out there and thats all he did making 60k a year. The rest of the time he waited until in between flights and raced his bike up and down the way.....

No bugs, awesome weather and hot chicks! YOU LUCK MAN!

Congrats!

refer to my other thread - no snakes either!!!!!

I miss it so much - so stoked i can go back - I learned to surf here in FL, but when i went to hawaii i got so spoiled - now i can't wait to go back and surf some real waves!

Wow. Contrats on the promotion NA. When my uncle was in the Navy one of his many stations was Hawaii. He has like two massive books full of pictures when he was there. The place looks awesome. One of these days I will visit Hawaii to see for my self. :) The only problem he ever mentioned was the cost of items seemed to be a lot higher than over here.

thanks MC - thats why i was there the first time - i was stationed there. yeah the cost of living is very high - rent for a 2BR/1BA apt is about 1600.00 a month. but the pay i will be getting is a lil better than i get here, so it will help, plus i have been checking on roomate.com and there are alot of people looking for roomates with a cost fo about 500 - 800 a month. i can swing that. its still several months away - so i will have saved up about 4500 by the time I'm ready to move, that will help me get adjusted. gonna have to live like a peasent until then though, in order to save the money to move.

so are u going to have to sell ur rc's. i mean that would suck. but nice promotion man. it would be fun to go to hawaii.

i dont want to - but will if i have to. My neighbor wasnts my GT - so I might sell that - and i almost never drive my buggy so that might go up for sale as well. i am only selling the NTC3 if i have to, i love that car. Again - i dont plan on it, but will if needed then buy new ones once i get settled down there.

dunno - i would have to see what the entire bundle cost me - but for just the buggy, engine, rx batt pack, and servos - maybe somewhere around 500.00

thats everything but a transmitter and rcvr. the buggy is a GS storm pro, engine is a OS .21RG, batts are a trinity 1300ma and the servos are hitec 645, and 625s.

i almost never use this car - doubt i have ran it more that 5 or 6 times.

Naw - i lived there for a while - no fever for me - plus oahu isnt that small, and honolulu is much larger than orlando, where i live now.
