Wel its xmas day 2day and i have my limited edition savage and a failsafe etc..
Going to be running it later today, had to adjust the brake linkage because they werent engaging, all is good now.
Just one question, should the brakes be so tight that they do not turn AT ALL when activated, or should they turn but really tightly?

well when i test my brakes ill mess with the screw on the end of the linkage. then ill push the truck by the bumper with my foot and then hit the brakes.

i dont think they should not turn at all when activated or else youll be doing flips and endos all over the place.

well then its set perfectly! Lol the screw thing on the end is tightened so the bar has gone through it but no harm done, brakes work well now.
Also do you think its worth buying a new servo for steering?

yes. one of the first upgrades most people do is get a new servo and battery hump pack. depending on your budget, u can get a nice servo (hitec 645 or jr z650mg for under 50 bucks. hump packs are also pretty cheap at under 20. look around the forums and ask if anyone has stuff foe sale. u might get lucky and score a nice deal.

id wait a little on the steering upgrades until it really begins to wear out, I've still got the Stock servos and AA set-up and my steering is just fine for bashing.

I agree. My 1st upgrade would be a hump pack. I still have my stock stearing servo. I figured no point of buying a new one until this ones bad, ya know? But I got the 4 series now, so it shouldnt be long..lol..

i have to agree ,get a hump pack for it ,and a charging switch along with it then you do not need to remove the battery cover everytime you need to charge it ,i just drilled a small hole in the (if looking from the front) right side of the lid and thats where my failsafe and charging jack are located ,right above the throttle servo
and look for the highest mah pack too, not sure but fasteddy might be able to hook you up with a good pack

Another place to route your charging jack is right next to the on off switch. You can cut away a samll section of the receiver cover right next to the switch and route your charging jack through there. I have mine runng out that small space and zip tied to the base of the antenna for easy access.

good idea sweet ,
i will have to do that if i replace my top
thanx
isnt there a plug you can mount on there that all you have to do is plug the charging lead into it?

Yes there are types of charging jacks that you can surface mount to the receiver box by cutting a hole. I think those have a cover to protect the jack when not in use.

The charging jack that I have is just a universal servo connector type that came with my on/off switch. It sometimes gets a little dirt thrown on it since it is exposed but I'm sure it can be easily covered with a ballon to help keep it clean in extreme conditions.

thnks guys, i dont mind too much about the hump pack. The limited edtition has alot of neat upgrades so i will probably only upgrade the steering servo. I was running it in today with my dad but it took a while. It didnt want to continue running on its own, and throttle had to be applied to stop the engine from dying. I guess its all the symptoms of a new, tight and un used engine though. Also my roto start struggled to turn even with a full battery and the engine wasn't flooded. We got it running though but the battery in the roto discharged, probably because it wouldnt turn which discharges the battery quickly. Ill be running it again tomorrow though.
