My new race rig finally showed up today! Now to mount up some servos and a powerplant....then go racing. I was a bit leary of buying this from another forum since the guy took $150 for it, but man o man!

Big Bore Shocks already installed, even gave me the original box and manuals plus a TON of spare plastic parts and such. He's shipping the wheels separate I guess. Now I need to talk to this dude about that LRP 28 he wants to sell me for $50. At least I know he's legit now! I was sweating for a few days until I got the tracking number from him. WELL worth the risk IMHO.

That's what I figure too. The manual calls for a .21 engine....so I'm wondering how well the .21VG will power this guy. I'm gonna try it before I go spending more on the LRP.

<--- nub driver

More power = More broken parts

Although, I was at the track this afternoon for a few hours and I'm getting the hang of airing out the buggy pretty well. Managed to nail 2 out of the 3 triples a few times, and managed to keep it on 4 wheels instead of it's roof better than in the past.

I have the Revo mastered now at the track! Easier to control since it's not a small rocketship, but that damn thing is a BLAST to drive. It's takes a BEATING out there too. Only lost a shock bolt thus far on it. Knock on wood.

I'm hoping the truggy is as fun to drive as the Revo....with almost as much balls as the buggy!

Ooooh good point. I guess I should make sure I'm not cheating before I buy stuff huh? It's just club racing....and after they see me drive...they will probably beg me to put the 28 in it so I crash more ;-)

No kidding huh Lessen? He said he assembled it, raced it once....then decided to get an 808 instead. Hence me being leery on it all. Sounded toooo good to be true. After IMing with him for like an hour....I sent him cash and crossed my fingers....and low and behold....it showed up!

I just sold the RC10GT to RC Addict...and had the cash (electronic cash!) in my PayPal account already anyway. I figured worst case I file a PayPal claim. So yeah....I risked it ;-)

OK So I finally got all the parts in for this sucker (just really needed a steering nut and a few screws) and put it all together and set it all up. All I can say is WOW! The used 21VG I bought for it fired up in 2.2 seconds flat on the bump box which shocked the living hell out of me. Never had a motor fire THAT fast....used motor at that.

This Truggy is SILLY fast with just the 21VG in it. If most of the power I was seeing in the front grassy yard transfers to the track....the 21 will be PLENTY of power for this thing. I'm stupid though....so I'll put the LRP 28 in it anyway. lol

I cannot wait to get this thing on the track! It seems to be WAY responsive. I just need a new throttle linkage spring now...I'll snag that at the LHS tomorrow on my way though. Stupid me thought it was too long when I was setting up the linkage and cut 1/2" off of it. BAD move. lol

I was so impressed that I think I'm gonna shine up my Revo and post her for sale. She won't be getting much action at the track any longer. lol

Glad to hear it bud, that is a sweet ride. Leave the VG on it, you'll make more consistent lap times and have to pit for fuel a lot less. The LRP is a thirsty monster truck engine.
Find you a Jammin JPX .21 for it, all the engine you'll ever need.

I'm REALLY hoping that the power the VG puts out is enough for the track. We have some BIG jumps with short runs...so we shall see what happens. The Truggy is actually LIGHTER than my buggy which is probably why I'm seeing a bit more power out of it with the same motor. I also have a Dynamite Pipe on the Truggy...so that could be the difference as well. On the Buggy I just have whatever stock pipe came with the Force 26.

I fixed the throttle linkage with a bit of fuel line for now. It works reliably....until I can get the proper spring.

It actually took a LOOONG time to empty the tank in this thing. I wasn't WFO with it, since it only had 6 tanks on it...but I swear this thing took 30-35 min to drain the tank. If I can get half of that at the track...I'll be stylin. I'll update later tonight after I get it on the track. Bringing my camera too....maybe my other half can get a few pics of it in action...and hopefully a crappy video. hehe

Now I may need to buy a new body and find someone to paint it for me. The wavy lines in the body he sent me are bugging me. lol

Well after my first track run....the 21VG has PLENTY to clear every jump on our local track. I have discovered that either I can't tune Nitro motors for crap, or I just get lucky and get the ones that like to run hot because I couldn't get the temps down below 250 to save my life. lol @ 260 it was RIPPING though. tons of smoke, sounded great, and gobs and gobs of power.

This damn Truggy handles excellent as well. Track conditions were dry and slippery and it handled it like a champ with some throttle control. Even in the loose stuff it cleared everything.
