You know, I saw a "that's incredible" episode where a grocery store was doing a promo. The million'th customer through the door, or something like that, won a chance to go in a dunking booth.

The dunking booth was filled with $1 bills, 10k of them. The idea was to grab as many as they possibly could in a limited time. Well, after the promo instead of giving this girl the wet cash, they gave her a check.

They drained the tank and were left with a numch of wet, wadded bills. They had no idea what to do with them. They actually sold them at $.50, or $.75 on the dollar. They couldn't figure out how to dry them out. They were one big pile of mush.

The guy who bought them no lie, took em to a laundrymat and was done in an hour lol.

Well, I don't know what happened in my little brain. I saw money in a microwave. I instantly thought about drying money. Which instantly brought up the laundry matt.

I was also going to say thanks for these links. A lot of sites you link to I add to my "favorite read every day" sites.

I was just thinking even if they did have RF id tags it would be hard to assign a bill to a person to track you more than once.

Maybe not that hard. At the bank, they have the computer of course on your account. The comp could scan every bill going over the counter without anyone knowing (not even the teller if the software ran in the backround.

From then on each one of those bills is tagged owned by you. Every grocery store or mini-mart you walk through the door could tell how much money you have, and wether you spent it "off the radar" so to speak.

Walk into safeway get scanned with 1k, walk out get scanned with $990. Next time you go past a scanner if any is missing it knows you spent some on a personal transaction. The missing bills can then be "unassigned to you"

The next time the bills are deposited, or goes anywhere where the new owner has an account with his/her name on it. It gets reassigned.

I can see how you could really find out where money goes and how it spent.

Can you imagine, no more smuggling 10k on a plane. Walk through the scanner, and along with an xray, they could have a computer read out of how much cash you have in your pocket.

Not only that anyone with a scanner could tell how much cash you have. Walk into safeway they can see how much you spent, and how much you have an ya.

That could get creepy. Just like the "members cards" they have at the supermarket. The cards aren't for a discount, they are to keep track of what you buy, and when.

If they see on the members cards that 1000 people from a factory come in and shop on fridays (say its pay day for a local factory). They raise the prices by a few cents only for that day.

I have a friend who workd on a big "consumer purchase database" It would flat freak you out if you knew how much info the supermarket/mall has on you.

I can hear the Black Helicopters over head...dont ya hear em??
